Gerwyn Price goes full Disney princess in pink pyjamas throwback on rugby tour

Gerwyn Price went full Disney princess mode in a hilarious throwback of when he wore a pink pyjama set on a rugby tour.

Price has flourished as a darts player since joining the sport in 2014, winning a slew of trophies on his journey to the very top of the game. But the 37-year-old used to be a rugby star before he made the switch to darts.

He had stints with Welsh Premiership sides Cross Keys and Neath. And 'The Iceman' also spent time with the Glasgow Warriors in the then Pro12 and played rugby league for South Wales Scorpions.

Price lifted the 2011/12 WRU Challenge Cup with Cross Keys. And he rolled back the years to his rugby heyday by sharing a snap of himself sporting a Disney themed pink vest top and shorts, complete with a crossbody bag and hat to match in what appeared to be a fun trip to Benidorm.

Price captioned the pic: "Over ten years ago, #Benidorm7's#MadMonday#WelshWizards#," alongside a crying face emoji and a rugby ball. And Price is poised to make a return to rugby at some point the season as he plans to juggle his first love and darts by missing out a few tournaments.

Speaking on his desire to play rugby again, he said, via the BBC: "I'm definitely going to put them [boots] back on sometime in the season, the question is just when as I've got to pick and choose tournaments. I'm going to hit them [PDC tournaments] hard early on and when I get myself some decent ranking points I'll miss one or two and definitely get those boots back on.

“I'm on the road constantly so it's nice to take some time out and I'm going to put the property [business] on the back burner for a bit as it's a little bit stressful. So I'll chill out when I'm home and hopefully enjoy one or two games of rugby which I do really miss, I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully I'll stay injury free."

If he sticks to his plan to play rugby again, Price will represent local team Bedwellty RFC, based near his home town of Markham in south Wales. A break from darts may do him some good following a tough few months in the sport.

He caused controversy with his ear defender stunt in January. And that was followed up by his tense encounter with Nathan Aspinall in the Premier League opener that had to be split up by the referee while fans booed the Welshman.
