Harry Kane 'to become Premier League's second best paid player with eye-watering new contract if he stays at Tottenham' | The Sun

HARRY KANE could become the second best paid player in the Premier League if he stays at Tottenham, according to reports.

The striker is set to meet with new boss Ange Postecoglou for the first time amid interest from Bayern Munich.

Spurs are determined not to sell their star man despite him only having a year left on his contract, meaning he could walk away for free in 12 months if a new deal is not agreed.

The Telegraph claim that Kane has shown no indication that he is willing to commit to the Tottenham.

However, chief Daniel Levy would supposedly be prepared to pay him £400,000-a-week.

They also report that Kane's future decision is unlikely to be financially motivated and instead be about potential success.

Postecoglou has admitted that he has not received any assurances over the future of the England captain.

Bayern Munich believe Kane would be willing to join the club with previous speculation suggesting that personal terms would not be an issue.

Thomas Tuchel held talks with him in London, which supposedly left Levy furious.

Bayern bid £60million last month and could launch a fresh offer of £70million plus add-ons.

Meanwhile, Spurs deny that any proposals have been made.

If they get their wishes and Kane extends his contract, he would become the second highest paid player in the Premier League.

Manchester City star Erling Haaland currently tops the list, earning a reported £865,000-a-week.

Kane would jump above his team-mate Kevin De Bruyne and Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, who both pocket £385,000-a-week.

Manchester United's Casemiro and Chelsea's Raheem Sterling are other stars to pocket huge wages.

Marcus Rashford could join the big earners with him set to agree a £375,000-a-week deal following the departure of David De Gea, who did take home that amount.
