Horse racing tips: Templegate NAP can prove herself a class above in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket | The Sun

TEMPLEGATE takes on a blockbuster Sunday of racing confident of landing you some winners.

Read on for our man's tips and back a horse by clicking their odds.

TAHIYRA (3.40 Newmarket, nap).

She showed her class when beating Meditate in the Moyglare Stud Stakes in September. Despite testing ground, she zoomed right away in the closing stages. The way she finished means she’s certain to get this mile.

ADAYAR (1.15 Newmarket, nb)

He won the Derby at his peak and finished an injury-troubled last season with a close-up second in the Champion Stakes. This trip is fine and he has gone well fresh before.

RUNNING LION (2.25 Newmarket, treble)

She clocked a big personal best when winning on her three-year-old debut at Kempton 27 days ago. She was just getting started over a mile there and will appreciate this longer distance. She’s bred to be top-class and can handle this step up in grade.

This 22-1 shot can bounce back with a big run at Newmarket

HALIC showed a liking for a staying test when beaten just a neck at Lingfield last time. He was coming back from a break there so can improve for the run and has a nice low weight.

William Buick rides Firstman for canny Irish trainer Tony Martin. He’s 9lb higher than his last win but isn’t here for a day out.

Cemhaan won well on his sole Rowley Mile run before finding the ground too slow in the November Handicap. He has run well fresh and trainer George Baker is in decent form.

RUNNING LION clocked a big personal best when winning on her three-year-old debut at Kempton 27 days ago.

She was just getting started over a mile there and will appreciate this longer distance. She’s bred to be top-class and can handle this step up in grade.

Queen Of Fairies didn’t have a lot to beat on debut at Southwell but she scored without getting out of first gear. She can take a major step up from that and is a major danger.

Floating Spirit has won both runs without any fuss. She quickened over a mile at Lingfield when last seen in February and is capable of better switched to turf.

3.00

PROSPEROUS VOYAGE was beaten a neck in the 1,000 Guineas on comeback last season and continued to hold her own at the highest level all year.

She won the Falmouth Stakes on the July course and finished with a solid fourth in the Sun Chariot. This is a drop in class with Frankie taking over and she can go close.

With The Moonlight has a couple of wins in this grade and kicked off this season with a good second in America. This trip suits and she’s respected.

Andre Fabre sends over Life In Motion who was a cosy Listed winner at Longchamp latest. She needs to build on that but is more than capable of doing so.

3.40

DERMOT Weld can win a first 1,000 Guineas with TAHIYRA. She showed her class when beating Meditate in the Moyglare Stud Stakes in September.

Despite testing ground, she zoomed right away in the closing stages. The way she finished means she’s certain to get this mile. She’s likely to improve for this sounder surface too.

Meditate finished the season with a good run in the Cheveley Park here before winning at the Breeders’ Cup over this trip. She relished the quicker ground in the States and has improved.

Dream Of Love looks a big threat after her excellent effort behind Mawj in Dubai last time. She tried to come from a mile back and the line came too soon. She’s solid each-way.

HAMILTON

2.05

HAIZOOM is down the weights and showed good signs when fourth at Ripon on comeback. She is only 1lb above her last win that came over this course and distance.

Zimmerman was just ahead of the tip last time and is another who can have a say although he is creeping up the weights.

Pons Aelius went down in a tight finish at Ripon in the mud last week. He could do with more rain to bring his stamina into play.

SALISBURY

2.40

MR INSPIRATION is crying out for this stamina test after a gutsy win over shorter at Lingfield last time. He was headed before rallying strongly near the line. A 4lb rise for that is fair and he can improve for the Gosdens.

Sir Rumi loved the mud when winning over 1m4f at Epsom 12 days ago. He had something up his sleeve so will be dangerous if enjoying these better conditions.

Whimsy looked rusty on comeback latest and is dangerously handicapped on her best. She has won here before and shapes like a stayer.
