TEMPLEGATE takes on the final day of Royal Ascot confident of finishing the festival with a bang.

Read on for our man's top tips and back a horse by clicking their odds below.

WELLINGTON (3.40 Royal Ascot, nap)

He has beaten some of the world’s speediest horses in landing big wins in Hong Kong and can go close under Ryan Moore who has ridden him before.

The six-year-old saves his best for this distance and likes quick ground. He is a multiple Group 1 winner who finishes his races strongly and he’s been working well since touching down in Blighty. His draw in stall 15 should be ideal.

PEARLS AND RUBIES (2.30 Royal Ascot, nb)

She caught the eye when winning over five furlongs on debut at Navan earlier this month. Aidan O’Brien is swiftly upping her in distance here which should be ideal on breeding. The king of Ballydoyle has a fine record in this race and his filly is certain to find lots of improvement.

HUKUM (4.20 Royal Ascot, treble)

He has been a great servant to excellent trainer Owen Burrows and landed Group 1 honours last season when taking Epsom’s Coronation Cup. His trainer worked wonders to get him over a major injury to return at Sandown last month where he made light work of beating Desert Crown in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes. He was a good third in a stronger renewal of this race two years ago and has progressed plenty since then.

PEARLS AND RUBIES caught the eye when winning over five furlongs on debut at Navan earlier this month.

Aidan O’Brien is swiftly upping her in distance here which should be ideal on breeding.

The king of Ballydoyle has a fine record in this race and his filly is certain to find lots of improvement.

There was a lot to like about the way La Guarida scored at Goodwood on her second outing. She travelled nicely and had the race won quickly.

The form has been franked by the next three all obliging and she enjoys quick ground. This longer distance looks a wise move.

O’Brien has another decent chance with Content who went down in a photo on debut at Leopardstown.

She would have won with a clearly run and can give Wayne Lordan a good spin.

Golden Mind looked to be crying out for this distance when winning over shorter at Leicester.

He can progress for Richard Fahey but has to give weight away to some talented fillies.

Lightning Leo showed good battling qualities to win a head-bobber at Yarmouth first time out.

Hollie Doyle takes over today and can conjure some improvement with that under his belt.

Matnookh wasn’t asked many questions on debut at Windsor when coming home third.

He was very green and looks certain to find more for this hike in trip.

It would be no shock if he improved enough to make the frame under William Buick.

Snellen showed a liking for this distance when scoring on debut at Limerick.

She was very green in the closing stages so will progress for the experience.

Nemonte had to weave her way through some trouble when winning at The Curragh and is another who will appreciate this greater test of stamina.

ENFJAAR looked classy when winning on debut at Newmarket and took another step forward when scooting in at Chelmsford last time.

He’ll need to improve further but is surely capable of doing so.

The Antarctic is already proven at this level from his win at Naas latest.

That was over six furlongs but he should have no issue lasting this longer distance under Ryan Moore.

Covey went from the front when winning on handicap debut at Haydock.

He has enough zip to drop back in distance here and the Gosdens are in superb form this week.

Holguin keeps hitting the post and we second again in an Epsom Listed race at the Derby meeting.

She is a threat along with the winner that day Olivia Maralda.

She was midfield in the Guineas and relished the drop in class to win.

This trip and fast ground suit and she’s on the shortlist.

Mysterious Night has been gelded since a poor run in the Craven.

He won a Grade 1 in Canada last season so has class and his best would definitely make him a player for Charlie Appleby who has won the past two runnings of this.

Quar Shamar was a fair sixth in the Irish 2,000 Guineas after winning a Dundalk maiden. This is a class drop but Jessica Harrington’s colt has a little bit to find.

Artorius was third in this 12 months ago and the Aussie flyer is back for another crack.

They take their sprinting seriously Down Under and he landed a big prize at Randwick in March before another big effort when seven furlongs stretched him last time.

We know he likes the track and all ground comes the same.

Kinross won the Champions Sprint over course and distance in October on soft ground before running a blinder when third at the Breeders’ Cup in much quicker conditions.

We’ll have to see if a stall one draw is a major handicap but his form is strong enough to figure.

Highfield Princess ran a big race when just pipped in the King’s Stand here on Tuesday.

She didn’t fire in this race 12 months ago but that was a blip and she’s likely to do a lot better this time.

Rohaan looks solid each-way given he’s won the past two Wokinghams.

This is tougher than that handicap but his liking for the track is a real plus.

Sacred has been in good form over an extra furlong including when winning easily at Lingfield last time.

She isn’t an obvious candidate for a drop in distance but can’t be dismissed.

Al Suhail went close in a Meydan Group 1 last time out in March and a repeat of that would give him a chance.

Free Wind just keeps winning and dropped down to 1m2f when taking the Group 2 Middleton Stakes at York last month.

She’s just as happy at this distance and beyond and has few miles on the clock for her age. She can go close for Dettori and the Gosdens.

Pyledriver was last seen winning the King George VI here last July where he landed his second Group 1 success over this distance.

Such a long break is not ideal but he has gone fresh before and William Muir will have him ready.

Deauville Legend’s last run was an excellent fourth in the Melbourne Cup in Australia.

That is over two miles but most of his best form is at this distance.

He has progressed since finishing second in a handicap at last year’s Royal meeting and has won on his seasonal debut before.

It would be no surprise to see him make the frame at a fair price.

Changinoftheguard won the King Edward VII over course and distance at last year’s Royal meeing.

He got stuck in the mud at Chester last time and should run well in these better conditions.

ORAZIO is a sprinter going places and has copped an excellent high draw for this red-hot handicap.

He did well as a juvenile, finishing third in a Listed contest at Newbury.

He looked better than ever when scoring on his three-year-old debut at Newmarket before a blistering win here last month in a fast time.

They were both on softer ground but he ran well in quicker conditions last season.

He looks on a fair handicap mark and can go close under William Buick.

Apollo One was beaten just a neck in good company at Epsom earlier this month on the back of a big-field third at Newmarket. He likes this trip and is a danger.

Lethal Levi has place claims after a close-up second in a tough contest at York.

He is better suited by the Knavesmire but likes this trip on quick ground.

Probe has some smart form with a big-field win at Newmarket last month.

He struggled a bit at Epsom after that but will prefer this track.

Khanjar didn’t get the best of runs when second at Hamilton and is better than that. The first-time cheekpieces may help.

King’s Lynn can come up the near-side rail and the King’s horse has run well in this before.

Old favourite Summerghand can be relied on to give his all and may nick a place.

Fresh wasn’t disgraced in this 12 months ago and is coming down the weights.

Spangled Mac was fourth in the Buckingham Palace here on Wednesday and should run well again too.

Mums Tipple likes trip and track so can give Frankie a good spin off a falling handicap mark.

CANUTE scored nicely in a hot contest at Navan last time and looks capable of improving out of this handicap level before long.

Despite being a bit keen, he seemed to have plenty in hand crossing the line on just his fifth lifetime run.

He is bred to be classy and can show more here for Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore.

Lion Of War got the better of Coco Jack at Musselburgh last time in what looked a decent race.

He came from a long way back so should be capable of confirming that form and they both have solid place claims.

Knockbrex hit the front a long way from home at York last time and was collared in the closing stages.

That was just his fourth run and he still looked pretty green. Dettori gets on board today and he should have more to offer.

Trainer Charlie Johnston’s horses are running well.

First Sight was last seen winning a Lingfield novice contest on the all-weather in January.

He likes this trip and makes his handicap debut off what looks a fair mark.

Charlie Appleby’s horses have been a little hit and miss this week but this son of Dubawi has talent and should run well.

The yard also runs Local Dynasty who was a fair fourth in the Dee Stakes at Chester.

He saw out this trip and may appreciate this better ground.

Laafi and Liberty Lane both have few miles on the clock and are dropping in class after decent efforts last time.

Like A Tiger would have a chance if finding the form of his Newmarket April win.

DAWN RISING can take the shine off Frankie Dettori’s last ever ride at Royal Ascot.

He started off with Aidan O’Brien but moved to his son Joseph to go hurdling where he was good enough to win a Grade 3 contest.

He returned to the Flat last month to run an excellent race in a Leopardstown Group 3 where he finished strongly over 1m6f.

He was just getting going there and the extra mile of Britain’s longest Flat race should be right up his street.

He may be a fair price too assuming the bookies are running scared of Stratum and the great Italian who bids farewell to this meeting.

William Buick was on board 12 months ago when Willie Mullins’ stayer came home strongly to win this race for the second year in a row.

He’s not done a lot since then and was left trailing by the tip last time but he’ll show his true colours today.

Falcon Eight won the Chester Cup at his best but looked moody on the Roodee last time.

He can’t be ignored but needs to show more willing.

Run For Oscar won the Cesarewitch last season and is fit from hurdling. He stays well and has place claims.
