Horse racing tips: Templegate NAPs BIG 8-1 shot who adores Goodwood and can smash rivals on Friday | The Sun

TEMPLEGATE takes on day four of Glorious Goodwood confident of finding you a few winners.

Read on for our man's top tips and back a horse by clicking their odds below.

WITHHOLD (1.50 Goodwood, nap)

He was a close second in this race 12 months ago and has every chance returning from 2lb lower in the weights.

He has travelled well on both starts this year and hasn’t been beaten far each time.

His liking for the track is a plus and the Charlton team is in good form at the moment.

RAASEL (3.35 Goodwood, nb)

He has done nothing but improve and he can take another big step forward here.

He’s won eight of his past ten starts including in good style at Sandown last time where he showed lots of pace to win a Group 3.

He took a decent handicap here earlier this season so copes with this tricky track and looks the one to beat.

FELIX NATALIS (4.45 Goodwood, treble)

He showed loads of pace when winning on handicap debut at Newbury eight days ago.

It looks a wise move to turn him out quickly under a penalty before his handicap mark goes up further. He looks open to improvement.

Templegate's race-by-race guide to day four of Goodwood

1.50

WITHHOLD was a close second in this race 12 months ago and has every chance returning from 2lb lower in the weights.

He has travelled well on both starts this year and hasn’t been beaten far each time.

His liking for the track is a plus and the Charlton team is in good form at the moment.

Super Superjack could have more to offer now he’s going up in distance.

He was more than a little unlucky when beaten half a length over 1m6f at Salisbury last time.

He looks on a handy weight and has won here before. He should enjoy this longer trip and is a major player.

Solent Gateway got close to Trueshan when third in the Northumberland Plate at Newcastle last time out.

He saw out the two miles there and a 2lb rise in the weights looks more than fair.

A repeat of that effort would take him close.

Zoffee won the Northumberland Vase and followed up with a close third in the Bahrain Trophy when dropping to 1m6f may not have been ideal.

He’s 8lb higher than that win but should be competitive.

Mellow Magic is proving consistent at 2m and should run another good race for good 5lb claimer Harry Davies.

Hydroplane had plenty in hand when winning at Chester and looks on a fair weight. He wouldn’t have to improve much to figure.

2.25

BAYSIDE BOY has been running well at the highest level and was just a length-and-a-half away in the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot last time.

He was placed a couple of times at the highest level last season and the booking of Ryan Moore is a plus.

Checkandchallenge found the Guineas too much on comeback and left that behind with a close second in a hot handicap at Sandown where he was asked to come from a long way back. He looks a major danger.

Berkshire Shadow was involved in that St James’s Palace finish and ran well again at Newmarket last time.

He can’t be discounted over a distance that suits well.

German raider Rocchigiani wasn’t disgraced in the Jersey Stakes dropped to 7f and should be happy back at the mile.

The others have plenty to do with Sonny Liston struggling in the Derby last time out.

3.00

NOBLE DYNASTY seems to have turned over a new leaf since being gelded, which can’t have been an easy call given he cost just under four million quid as a yearling.

He won a decent handicap at Newmarket on his first run back and can strike again under just a 3lb penalty before going on to bigger and better things.

This mile trip is ideal and William Buick is having a good meeting.

Montassib was a close-up fifth in the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot before another cracking effort when fourth in the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket.

They were both over 7f but hs shapes as though moving up to a mile will hold hold no fears.

Eilean Dubh has been in excellent form with two big wins at York after a Hamilton success.

He is proven at this distance and looks a danger from just 3lb higher than his last success.

Jimi Hendrix got up on the line to score at Newmarket after a good third in the Britannia Stakes.

He’s under who can have a big say carrying a penalty.

Blue For You has been knocking on the door and finished well at York last time.

He’s another to consider along with Sandown scorer Sinjaari.

3.35

RAASEL has done nothing but improve and he can take another big step forward here.

He’s won eight of his past ten starts including in good style at Sandown last time where he showed lots of pace to win a Group 3.

He took a decent handicap here earlier this season so copes with this tricky track and looks the one to beat.

Mitbaahy was a little unlucky in the run in that race as he was tightened up when trying to make his challenge.

But he had enough time once in the clear to peg back the leader but was never quite getting there.

He’s only three so gets a weight allowance and there won’t be a lot between them again.

Lazuli found the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes a bit beyond him at Royal Ascot but won in this class out in Dubai in February and should come on for that UK comeback.

Acklam Express has a course and distance win on his CV, which is a plus. He was a good third in the King’s Stand and is a major player.

Khaadem went from the front when winning a Newmarket Group 3 by a neck. That’s decent form that gives him a chance.

Equilateral was a good third at The Curragh last time and is another to note.

4.10

FANCY MAN ran well in the Old Newton Cup at Haydock last time when getting stuck in traffic.

He was beaten just two lengths in the end and is best over this trip. He has every chance back in Group company.

Rebel’s Romance got the job done nicely in a Listed contest at Newmarket last month.

He was making his turf debut there so should be right there again on his hike in class.

Global Storm wasn’t beaten far in the Princess Of Wales’s Stakes at Newmarket earlier this month.

He should find this a bit easier and has solid place claims.

Max Vega will be happier back at this distance after being outclassed behind Stradivarius in the Yorkshire Cup last time out in May.

Regal Reality hasn’t won for two years but showed some positive signs when second at Sandown last time.

He moves up in distance here and Sir Michael Stoute is in decent form.

4.45

FELIX NATALIS showed loads of pace when winning on handicap debut at Newbury eight days ago.

It looks a wise move to turn him out quickly under a penalty before his handicap mark goes up further. He looks open to improvement.

Silencer wasn’t beaten far in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot and went close again when second at Chester.

He tries this longer trip for the first time and it should bring improvement.

Bolt Action was a good debut winner at Leicester before finishing sixth in the Windsor Castle.

He is another who should show more stepping up from the minimum trip.

California Gem got the job done nicely at Beverley last time on the back of a Ripon win.

She can take a step forward for George Boughey.

Remarkable Force has been keeping good company since winning a couple of maidens earlier this year.

He should see out this distance.

Kaasib went close at Ffos Las and he won’t be far away under William Buick. He looks on a fair weight and has more to offer.

5.20

OMNISCIENT improved a bundle for moving up to 1m2f when winning easily at Yarmouth last time.

This extra furlong will help Sir Mark Prescott’s three-year-old take another step forward under a penalty.

Caius Chorister can’t stop winning and made it four in a row at Epsom earlier this month.

He has shot up the weights but has a useful claimer on board and should be competitive again.

Night Of Luxury has won both his handicaps over 1m2f and should enjoy this extra furlong.

He is up 6lb for scoring at Epsom latest and his liking for that difficult track bodes well for here.

Mark Johnston fires a few darts with the booking of Frankie Dettori taking the eye on Highland Premiere.

He went close on the AW last time and looks on a fair mark back on turf. Sheer Rocks scored well at Chester and a 4lb rise looks fair.
