Horse racing tips: Templegate NAPS runaway Royal Ascot winner to do it again at Newmarket on Friday | The Sun

TEMPLEGATE goes in search of some big winners from Friday's top class racing at Newmarket.

Our man delivers his tips, goes through every race in detail below… and don't forget to back one of his picks by clicking their odds.

CANDLEFORD (3.00 Newmarket, nap)

He looked like a Group horse in the making with a barnstorming Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes win at Royal Ascot last time. This longer distance should bring improvement and he can cope with a rise in the weights.

LEZOO (2.25 Newmarket, nb)

She was very impressive when winning a Listed contest over course and distance 13 days ago. She tanked along there before picking up strongly with the track clearly suiting Ralph Beckett’s filly.

NEW LONDON (1.50 Newmarket, treble)

He drops into handicap level after his second in the Chester Vase last time. He really didn’t handle the Roodee’s tight turns and will be much happier back here and dropping in distance.

FLYING HONOURS can add to Charlie Appleby’s good tally in this race. This son of Sea The Stars is the choice of William Buick over stablemate Desert Order who is another in with a shout.

Hope You Can Run made a good start when a close-up second at Doncaster on debut last month. Frankie takes the ride for the Johnstons and won’t be far away.

Epictetus is bred to be classy and is worth a market check along with Leadman who starts for in-form trainer Andrew Balding. He is related to winners in their two-year-old season.

1.50

NEW LONDON drops into handicap level after his second in the Chester Vase last time.

He really didn’t handle the Roodee’s tight turns and will be much happier back here and dropping in distance.

I thought he may be a Derby horse after two good victories on the Rowley Mile over this trip. That didn’t happen but he’s better than a handicapper and can prove it here.

Yonafis caught the eye when finishing well over a mile at Royal Ascot. The extra two furlongs here will help and there’s more to come after that encouraging turf debut.

Natural World disappointed at Goodwood latest and has been gelded since. He was a fair third in the Lingfield Derby Trial and can show his true colours here.

Reelemin won nicely at Sandown over this trip and looks best of the rest. War Horse finished well at Epsom and has place claims off this handicap mark.

2.25

LEZOO was very impressive when winning a Listed contest over course and distance 13 days ago.

She tanked along there before picking up strongly with the track clearly suiting Ralph Beckett’s filly. That was just her second run so there’s more to run.

Maylandsea is the major threat as she steps up in trip for the first time.

She won on debut at Nottingham before a good second in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot. She finished well over 5f there so the extra furlong should be fine.

Mawj won her debut well on the Rowley course in May and was a good second in the Albany Stakes at Ascot latest. She is a strong finisher but needs a bit more to score here.

Tagline was no match for Lezoo here last time but was far from disgraced in third. She did her best work at the finish and could nick a place.

Queen Olly ran well at Ascot but needs a bit more for this.

3.00

CANDLEFORD looked like a Group horse in the making with a barnstorming Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes win at Royal Ascot last time.

This longer distance should bring improvement and he can cope with a rise in the weights.

Spirit Mixer and Summer’s Knight both ran good races in the Northumberland Plate on the all-weather at Newcastle last time.

The former was an excellent second while the latter was given a bit much to do up the home straight before finishing fifth.

He is back from the same mark and has plenty of decent form on turf too.

Zoffee scored at Carlisle before taking the Northumberland Vase over 2m at Newcastle.

Frankie Dettori takes over on Hugo Palmer’s stayer who has solid place claims.

Midnights Legacy was a game winner at Epsom latest. He’s been hiked 6lb but stays well for Alan King.

3.35

INSPIRAL was one of the few bright spots at Royal Ascot for Frankie Dettori and looks different class to these rivals.

She won the Group 1 Coronation Stakes by almost five lengths when showing a sharp turn of foot. That was her first run of the season and she should improve for it.

All ground comes the same and it will be a major shock if she’s turned over.

Prosperous Voyage was a neck second in the 1,000 Guineas on the Rowley Mile and she didn’t get the run of the race when out wide at Ascot behind the wonder filly.

She looks a decent bet to grab second spot.

Sibila Spain has sold form in France and won a Group 2 at St Cloud last time out in May. She was upset in the stalls at Royal Ascot but could hit the frame if handling the start better.

Sandrine was hampered in the Coronation after a solid fifth in the Guineas.

4.10

LORD RAPSCALLION hit the post here last time when second in a stronger contest. He relishes this trip and looks ready to win.

Nizaaka is effectively 10lb higher than when winning over course and distance last time but still looks a threat.

Dashing Dick was third here latest and is abck from the same mark with another each-way chance.

Ataser won this race and is respected after a fair 4lb rise in the weights.

La Maquina has been running well in Bahrain and went down in a head-bobber last time. He won this race last year and won’t be far away again.

4.45

ANCIENT TIMES was impressive when landing the Scottish Sprint Cup at Musselburgh over this trip.

He showed blistering pace there but stays further and a 5lb rise in the weights looks fair.

Tees Spirit held his own in hot company at The Curragh latest after winning the Epsom Dash. He blasts off from the front and may be hard to peg back.

Navello ran well at Royal Ascot before winning cosily at Chester last time. He still looks on a fair mark.

Han Solo Berger had lots up his sleeve when scoring at Yarmouth and can go well up in class here.
