Horse racing tips: Templegate's NAP is improving and this new trip makes him even more dangerous | The Sun

TEMPLEGATE takes on a big Saturday of racing confident of pulling in a few winners.

Back his tips by clicking their odds below and read his verdicts for all the TV action.

ALA KAIFI (5.05 Redcar, nap)

He took his form to a new level when scoring at Doncaster three weeks ago. He finished strongly to win over 1m2f and looks ideal for this stiffer test of stamina.

BREEGE (4.10 Ascot, nb)

She looks well up to this level and went close in a hot contest at Sandown latest. She is fine with this trip and looks ready to win.

EMARAATY ANA (1.50 Ascot, treble)

He may not quite be the force of old but has been going close in this Listed class and will have no problem dropping to the minimum trip.

CAN’T WIN

Jockey banned after winning race as punters blast ‘joke’ of a decision

EMARAATY ANA will enjoy dropping to this trip after being collared near the line over six furlongs at York last time.

He’s one of the few in the field who is best on the likely decent ground and he’s won much stronger races than this before.

Nymphadora was pipped in a Chester Group 3 two Saturdays ago and is best over this trip. Her last win came on good ground so conditions should be fine.

Korker came back to his best when winning in the mud at Beverley last week. This trip is ideal and he’s on the shortlist.

Designer took a decent handicap at York two runs ago and relishes this trip. He was a neck ahead of Rage Of Bamby on the Knavesmire and there won’t be a lot between them again.

Chipstead is hit and miss and needs the first-time cheekpieces to get him back on track. Zudu Spirit has moved to the excellent George Boughey and is worth a market check on this UK debut.

2.25

AL QAREEM showed real heart when scoring at Chester last time and can follow up.

Karl Burke’s hopeful enjoyed dropping back to this distance on the Roodee and gets weight from some of his main rivals.

Jim Crowley has picked Al Aasy who ran well at Leopardstown last time after a neck success at Haydock. He handles any ground and can go close again.

Israr also carries the blue Shadwell Stud colours and can’t be ignored. He didn’t fire on the all-weather at Kempton latest but took a Group 2 on the July course and could end up a bigger threat.

Postileo has been flying at handicap level and deserves this hike in class. He’ll have to improve on his Hamilton win to figure though.

L’Astronome wasn’t far behind the tip at Chester but has to raise his game to turn the tables.

3.00

ANNAF clocked a career-best when winning the Portland at Doncaster last time and can follow up.

The form of that race looks strong and he can take another step forward now he’s broken his turf duck.

Commanche Falls was ahead of the tip when winning the Hackwood at Newbury in July and looks a big threat on the back of a gutsy York success.

Juan Les Pins was behing him on the Knavesmire is has an each-way shout again.

Dark Trooper has been hoovering up handicaps including in good company here on his past two runs. This trip suits and he can figure on this hike in class.

Happy Romance drops down from Group 1 level and was a decent fourth in the Portland so has place claims.

Garrus is proven at this level and won’t be far away.

3.35

ESCOBAR is a whopping 16lb lower in the handicap than when winning this race 12 months ago and that gives him a major chance.

He wasn’t disgraced over an inadequate 6f in the Ayr Gold Cup last time and his best form has come at Ascot. Neil Callan can get a good tune out of him.

Baradar is top-class at this level but needs cut in the ground and isn’t likely to get it today.

Fresh was a little unlucky at The Curragh last time and will enjoy going back up to this trip.

Quinault just keeps winning and got the better of Popmaster here last time. This trip is ideal and they both have a chance.

Rhoscolyn is another who would prefer it softer, while Biggles has run well in a big field before.

NEWMARKET

1.30

TOTNES has taken a giant leap forward on her past three runs. She scored at Chepstow before winning at the ultra tough Racing League at Chepstow.

She stepped up again in good company when an unlucky second at Newbury last time. She likes this trip and the only slight worry is the ground as this will be the quickest she’s faced. It’s worth the risk with Andrew Balding still in hot form.

Ryan Moore doesn’t ride many for Charlie Appleby and they have every chance with Whispering Words.

She won a maiden on the July course here before a good effort at Kempton. This is just her third run and her opening handicap mark looks fair.

Madame Ambassador pulled well clear over course and distance 14 days ago and is respected taking on stronger opposition.

Red Danielle only had two to beat at Yarmouth but she did it on the bridle and can’t be ignored.

Queen Regent may not have stayed over 1m4f at Salisbury latest and this trip should suit better.

2.05

ZOULU CHIEF is a short price but he has much the strongest form in the field.

He landed his first handicap at Windsor before scooting in at York last time. That was a really hot race that has produced six future winners already. This trip and good ground are ideal and he keeps it simple from the front.

Woodhay Wonder looks the main threat after winning a big sales race on the July course. He’s been given a little break since then and showed good pace over this distance. He should be capable of better.

Invincible Aura has few miles on the clock and showed good pace when second in a fair race at Pontefract latest. This is tougher but he could run into a place.

Beenham wasn’t disgraced when third in a Newbury Listed contest in August. She could nick a place on this step up in distance.

Lieutenant Rascal has been busy and followed a Brighton win with a close second at Wolverhampton. This is tougher but trainer George Scott is in decent form.

3.15

INSPIRAL can give Frankie Dettori another big win. She ran right up to her best when winning the Jacques Le Marois at Deauville last time ahead of a top-class field.

She has flopped a couple of times when fancied for big races but they both came in testing ground which she won’t face today. This mile is ideal and she should be too good.

Msqe De Sevigne comes here looking for a Group 1 hat-trick after battling wins at Deauville. This trip is fine and Andre Fabre is always respected although his filly would prefer the ground a little softer.

Heredia has been supplemented after winning the Atalanta at Sandown. That was with some cut but she handles quicker conditions. She’ll need to improve but is capable.

Coppice won the Sandringham at Royal Ascot and took her first race since at Listed level over course and distance just eight days ago. That track form is a plus but this is tougher.

Irish 1,000 Guineas second Meditate has not won this season but ran well in the Matron at Leopardstown and could nick a place.

REDCAR

2.45

DRAGON LEADER looks hard to beat despite tasting defeat for the first time at Doncaster.

That was still a cracking run to be second to a hot prospect and matched the form of his victory in a red-hot contest at York. This trip and fast ground are ideal and something will have to improve to get past him.

Flaccianello was value for more than the official margin of a neck when scoring at Ayr 15 days ago and is the danger if handling this quicker ground.

The rest look to be playing for places with Love Billy Boy clocking a fair time over this distance at York three starts back. The ground should be ideal.

It’s early days for The King’s Works Of Art who won at Kempton in July and should have more to offer.
