TEMPLEGATE looks to cap off a brilliant week of winners with one last hurrah at York on Saturday.

Read on for our man's tips, find his breakdown of every ITV race below and back a horse by clicking their odds.

GAASSEE (3.35 York)

He is improving with every run and has enough class to take an open Ebor. He landed a hat-trick last term and kicked off this season with a smooth success here over 1m4f.

He then went for the Old Newton Cup at Haydock where he had to come through traffic when finishing a close-up third. Moving up in distance looks a wise move and he has more to offer.

WILD CRUSADE (2.25 York, nb)

He looks to be crying out for this trip after a smooth success at Ascot last time. He didn't have a lot to beat but the form has been franked.

He went close here at the May meeting but has clearly improved since and the step up to a staying distance should bring more improvement.

MIGHTY ULYSSES (1.50 York, treble)

He was too good for Alflaila when they met at Newmarket last month and he can confirm that form.

John Gosden's colt was earlier beaten less than half a length in the Group 1 St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot and has lots of class.

YORK

1.50

MIGHTY ULYSSES was too good for Alflaila when they met at Newmarket last month and he can confirm that form.

John Gosden's colt was earlier beaten less than half a length in the Group 1 St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot and has lots of class.

Alflaila looks his main threat again after a Pontefract Listed success following that HQ run.

He likes this mile trip and handles cut in the ground so any rain would enhance his chances.

Cadillac has been a tad disappointing on his two runs since connections forked out £500,000 for him.

That was prompted by a convincing Listed success at Leopardstown before his second in the Wolferton at Royal Ascot.

He has a little bit to find with the other two.

Bashkirova won the Princess Elizabeth at Epsom but couldn't back that up at the Royal meeting.

She's had a little break since then and is best at this trip.

Finest Sound was second in a Meydan Group 1 in March but hasn't got to that level this season.

He didn't have much to beat at Thirsk last time.

Masekela was fourth in the Derby but has been poor on his past two runs and has questions to answer now.

2.25

WILD CRUSADE looks to be crying out for this trip after a smooth success at Ascot last time.

He didn't have a lot to beat but the form has been franked. He went close here at the May meeting but has clearly improved since and the step up to a staying distance should bring more improvement.

Stablemate Al Nafir is entered in the St Leger and takes a sharp hike in trip here for his handicap debut.

He showed some promise at Newmarket on just his third run and has more to offer.

Sheer Rocks went close at the Shergar Cup at Ascot 14 days ago and has every chance from just 1lb higher.

Inverness finished off well when beaten just over a length at Goodwood latest. He met trouble in running there and this extra furlong is in his favour.

Andrew Balding has a good recent record in this race and his Soul Stopper won nicely in his first handicap at Chester last time.

He's been hiked 8lb but should be capable of better.

Cauis Chorister is in fantastic form with five wins on the spin including by a neck at Goodwood. This is tougher but he can't be ruled out in this heart.

3.00

SANDRINE raised her game when taking on the colts for the first time when taking the Lennox Stakes at Goodwood last time.

She relished the drop back from a mile and can take another step forward here.

Kinross was just a neck behind on the Downs and will be right in the mix again under Frankie.

Fifth home Sacred took a while to hit top gear before closing at the line. This more galloping track may give her a chance to find her stride sooner.

Jumby made the leap out of handicap company to run the race of his life when winning the Group 2 Hungerford Stakes at Newbury last time.

He had things go his way there but scored fair and square. A repeat would give him a chance again.

He beat Pogo there who also ran well in the Lennox after scoring at Newmarket. He is best over this distance and is another to consider in a wide open contest.

Brad The Brief is proven in this grade at 6f having won last time out at The Curragh in May. His absence is a worry but he has lots of talent.

Al Suhail was last seen flopping in Dubai but could easily bounce back.

3.35

GAASSEE is improving with every run and has enough class to take an open Ebor.

He landed a hat-trick last term and kicked off this season with a smooth success here over 1m4f.

He then went for the Old Newton Cup at Haydock where he had to come through traffic when finishing a close-up third.

Moving up in distance looks a wise move and he has more to offer.

Frankie's fans have a live chance with Trawlerman who scored at Goodwood in hot company and just has a 4lb penalty to contend with.

Candleford was a good Royal Ascot winner before getting no luck in running at Newmarket. He's gone up the weights but is another who looks progressive.

Alfred Boucher was a good winner over 2m here on Wednesday and Ian Williams wouldn't run him unless he was over those exertions.

He was impressive and deserves this crack at hotter company under a 4lb penalty.

Earl Of Tyrone made it a hat-trick of wins when taking a Limerick Listed race last time out in June.

He saw out this trip well when winning a trial for this at The Curragh and can figure despite a 16lb rise in the weights since.

Jessica Harrington's Ever Present is respected and landed a big-field handicap at Leopardstown to sign off last season.

He looked rusty on comeback at Down Royal last month and won't be far away.

4.10

GHATHANFAR ran well in the first race of the meeting when the drop to 5f wasn't right up his street.

He still boxed on nicely to finish up with the leaders and he was in a blanket finish the last time he tackled this course and distance in July.

Tabdeed didn't get much luck in running when beaten a short-head in the Stewards' Cup at Glorious Goodwood.

He had to switch at a crucial stage which probably cost him the race.

A 5lb rise gives him a bit more to do but he'll be competitive.

Commanche Falls was the horse ahead of him there and he's got 6lb more on his back today. He should be thereabouts again.

Regional came late to grab third in the Stewards's Cup on the back of a good second at Doncaster. He is best over this trip.

Aleezdancer beat some useful rivals at Ripon earlier this month when hitting the front a long way out.

The handicapper has been fair with a 4lb rise.

Summerghand was first home in his group when fourth in the Great St Wilfrid at Ripon last week and is coming nicely down the weights.

He has every chance of hitting the frame.

4.45

ROCKET RODNEY takes a drop in class after just being collared in the Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood last time.

His last Listed run saw him score easily at Sandown after going down by a neck to rising star Little Big Bear at Royal Ascot.

He tanks along and will be very hard to catch.

Treasure Trove is another who was chinned on the line, this time at The Curragh last Saturday.

She looks up to this level and can make the most of after fillies’ weight allowance.

Bolt Action has his sights raised after a promising effort in a Goodwood nursery.

That was over 6f but he shaped well enough in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot over this trip when three lengths behind the tip.

Brave Nation has shown enough in a couple of Group runs to suggest he’s not out of this but has something to find.

5.20

PHANTOM FLIGHT showed promise when third behind St Leger hopeful New London on his handicap debut at Newmarket last time.

He might have been closer with a clear run as he has to switch around rivals. He’s up 5lb with much more to offer.

Special Envoy comes back in trip after a convincing win at Windsor last month. That was the Frankel colt’s first handicap and a 6lb rise seems fair.

Forest Falcon won at Goodwood and was turned out too quickly just four days later.

William Buick takes over from an apprentice and this trip is ideal.

Spirit Dancer scored nicely over course and distance last month and a 4lb rise is fair. He will be competitive again.

Piecederesistance got off the mark at Pontefract and could be ahead of the handicapper over his favourite trip. Lucander is another who likes it here.

SANDOWN

2.05

GRAND DAME had more than three lengths to spare when winning a Listed contest at Sandown last time.

She was beating a useful yardstick in Oscula and looks more than capable of coping with this higher grade.

Fellow Gosden runner Laurel is interesting too after an easy debut victory on the July course at Newmarket.

He quickened nicely there and this Kingman filly can take a major step forward.

Fonteyn more than held her own in Grade 1 company when fourth in the Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

She tanked along over the 1m2f distance there so coming back in trip looks a wise move.

She was a Listed winner at York before that and has more to come.

The others have a bit to find but Nizaaka has built up a sequence of handicap wins at Newmarket.

They have all come over 7f but she shapes as though the extra furlong will suit and she deserves a crack at this higher level.

Potapova caught the eye when second over a mile in an Epsom Group 3 but she seems to have gone backwards in a couple of runs since then.

2.40

DESERT HERO looked well up to this standard when scooting in on debut at Haydock in June.

He showed a high cruising speed and put the race to bed very quickly. This is a hotter contest but we can expect a lot more from this Sea The Stars colt.

Defence Of Fort was a cheap enough buy but he repaid a big slice of that fee with a near-five length debut win at Ascot last month.

He picked up sharply on the firm ground and will be a threat again.

The Foxes won a decent maiden at Goodwood last time after find a Listed contest too much at Royal Ascot.

He's another who is proven over this tricky trip and has more to come.

Silver Knott showed promise when fourth on debut at Newbury and left that behind with an assured success at Kempton 17 days ago.

He shapes as though a longer trip would already suit but he's got enough pace to make his presence felt.

Dornoch Castle got upset before the Group 2 Vintage Stakes at Goodwood and never got going.

He was impressive earlier at Ayr and Haydock and can't be written off.
