In-demand Liverpool academy boss wanted by Rangers for huge job after Scottish giants missed out on top target | The Sun

LIVERPOOL’S academy manager Alex Inglethorpe is in the frame for the director of football job at Rangers.

His name is now being mentioned after Sam Jewell chose to stay at Brighton.

Rangers want someone to replace Ross Wilson, who left in April.

Inglethorpe, 51, was with Tottenham before Liverpool.

Rangers have had a tough start to the season in Scotland.

Their poor run of form saw manager Michael Beale sacked last month.

They subsequently responded by appointing former Monaco boss Philippe Clement.

Rangers travel to Hearts this afternoon keen to build momentum.

Ahead of the game, Clement said: "I want them to be ambitious to become better.

"It is not that it was the perfect performance, we can do things better than that performance, but you seen that they start to understand more and more of the story of what we want to do.
