Inside England dressing room after Italy victory as squad including Trippier in his Y-fronts pay tribute to Harry Kane | The Sun

ENGLAND paid tribute to record goalscorer Harry Kane after beating Italy 2-1 in Naples.

Kane scored from the penalty spot to win the match and set a new record of goals scored for England.






He now has 54 for the Three Lions and was presented with a special England shirt bearing that number and the words 'Kane record breaker' on the back.

Manager Gareth Southgate presented the jersey to Kane along with a collage depicting some of his best England moments.

Before that Kane said a few words of thanks to his team-mates after a historic win – England's first in Italy since 1961.

Kane said: "I just want to say thanks to you guys the staff, the players.

"It means a lot to me to play for England first and foremost, but to score this goal especially after what happened at the World Cup means a lot. So a big thanks to everyone and let's keep it going.

In a separate message posted on Instagram Kane added: "Madness, madness. Not even a dream, I didn't even dream of doing something like this so just hugely proud.

"Big thanks to the team, the staff, the fans, everyone involved. My family back home.

"It's a special moment and one I'll never forget,and to win the game, first win in Italy for God knows how long, Just a real special night for me and the team."

The players then posed with Kane front and centre accompanied by his two gifts.

Before giving his speech the England captain went around the dressing room shaking the hand of each one of his team-mates, including Kieran Trippier in his Y-fronts.

Southgate paid tribute to Kane before handing over his gifts, saying: "It's an unbelievable achievement, incredible, when you look at all the names on that list, absolutely phenomenal.

"To do it as you did it tonight, extra special."

Jack Grealish also praised Kane, saying: "Great feeling to come here and win, well done lads 🤩 Congratulations @harrykane on a unbelievable achievement 💙"

Luke Shaw wrote on Instagram: "Buzzing for this guy Harry Kane what an achievement and many more to come."

Bukayo Saka put simply: "Special."
