MANCHESTER UNITED appear set to miss out on Watford star Ismaila Sarr.

United were favourites to sign Sarr yesterday but Sky Bet have slashed Leeds to odds-on at 1/2 to sign the winger.

Sarr has impressed for the Hornets during his three years with the club, making over 90 appearances since signing from Rennes for £27m.

Watford's relegation from the Premier League last season made it highly likely Sarr would leave the club to stay in the top flight.

And he's going about it the right way by keeping himself in the headlines with a sensational goal from inside his own half in the matchday two draw at West Brom.

United's need for attacking reinforcements and Sarr's wondergoal meant he had forced his way into Ten Hag's thoughts.

And with the failed approach for Marko Arnautovic putting further pressure on the United hierarchy, a move for Sarr looked on the cards.

But Leeds have jumped to the front of the queue judged by the betting and look most likely to secure Sarr's services, with United pushed out to 16/1.

Leeds started with a home win over Wolves to kickstart their league campaign and are many people's pick to go down.

They have already added a winger in Luis Sinisterra to their ranks this summer but are now 1/2 to sign Sarr.

West Ham were being touted as the club most likely to secure the signature of the Senegal international but are now out to 20/1.

The Hammers are understood to be in the process of offloading forward players Said Benrahma and Nikola Vlasic, which could free up funds, wages and a position for Sarr.
