Israel U21 vs England U21 betting tips

We meet again…

England and Israel go head-to-head for the second time in this year's competition for that all-important place in Saturday's grand finale.

The Three Lions have very good recent memories having cruised to a 2-0 victory over Israel courtesy of goals from Anthony Gordon and Emile Smith Rowe in their Group C contest.

England boasted 68 percent possession and had eight shots that afternoon, limiting their opponents to just a single effort on target.

Lee Carsley's side have yet to concede a goal in this tournament, and have more than a good chance of lifting a trophy they last won in 1984.

It's been a very different story for Israel, who've scraped their way through the group and knockout stages.

A 1-0 win over the Czech Republic sent them into the quarter-finals, where they drew 0-0 in normal time before beating co-hosts Georgia on penalties.

And the winner is…

In a word: England. The Three Lions have done it once, and they can do it again – albeit with the added pressure of the knockout stages.

England have been lauded for their attacking approach but their success has been built on their defensive solidarity.

As mentioned, they've not conceded a goal in their first four matches, limiting their opponents to a combined 13 shots on target in 360 minutes.

Israel don't ship too many goals either, but their biggest issue has been finding the net. They've blanked in four of their last seven fixtures, and have only managed 2+ goals twice in their last 14.

  • Our tip: England win to Nil at 17/20 with William Hill

Repeat business…

Anthony Gordon is enjoying fine spell for both club and country. The 22-year-old has scored three in his last four starts, including the opener when these sides last met.

He's also scored six goals in 14 appearances at Under-21 level, with a further three assists to boot.

The Newcastle talent is operating in a more advanced role under Carsley, and should continue to cause problems with confidence at an all-time high.

  • Our tip: Anthony Gordon first goalscorer at 4/1 with William Hill

Attack, attack, attack…

England tend to start pretty quickly under Carsley having scored four first-half goals in their last three matches at the Under-21 European Championships.

Three of those goals have been inside the opening 21 minutes with opposition seemingly blown away by England's early attacking intent.

The Young Lions will no doubt continue to field a fiercely attacking XI and look to gain an early advantage against a side who will inevitably invite pressure from the off.

  • Our tip: England to score inside the opening 30 minutes at 6/4 with William Hill
