Jamie Carragher trolls Gary Neville over Man Utd's Champion League exit by sharing tweet from Sky Sports pal from May | The Sun

JAMIE CARRAGHER brutally trolled Gary Neville following Manchester United’s early Champions League exit.

The Red Devils’ worst-ever European campaign came to an end at the hands of Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

A 1-0 defeat to the German champions condemned United to a ROCK-BOTTOM finish in Group A.

And former Liverpool man Carragher couldn’t help but take aim at Manchester United icon Neville after seeing the Red Devils dumped out of Europe’s premier club competition.

He reposted an X post Neville shared in May in which his fellow Sky Sports pundit claimed Kop chief Jurgen Klopp would struggle to rebuild his side without the millions Champions League money provides.

The post read: “Klopp needs to rebuild an ageing squad but no CL is a lot of money lost and they don't just need 1 or 2!”

Carragher’s legion of followers were quick to comment, with one saying: “This aged well.”

Another said: “Looks like Ten Hag needs to rebuild the entire squad.”

And another said with a series of laughing emojis: “Are you from the future?”

One remarked: “Are you okay, Gary?”

Another chimed in: “Klopp is playing in [the] Europa League, where is Ten Hag?”

Carragher and Neville will no doubt renew their war of words on Sunday afternoon when Liverpool host Manchester United at Anfield.

United’s early Champions League exit has heaped considerably more pressure on the shoulders of manager Erik ten Hag, although the Dutchman is adamant the season is far from over for his hot-and-cold troops.

He said: “There's still many things to play for. And now we can focus, of course, on the Premier League and this is the level we want to play, Champions League.

"So, we have to give every effort in to be in the top four so, next year, we are back in the Champions League and then, of course, the FA Cup [starts in January].

“So, there’s still many things to play for.”

The former Ajax boss added: "Why did this happen?

"I would say it's a symbol today, we have to make subs, and we're losing players, and we're losing also players who are very decisive for our game who can make the difference.

"I think it was, in many games, also the case in this campaign that we’ve not always had the players available we want to play.

"And that's definitely a part but now I give you a reason but don’t see it as an excuse.

"Because even when we are not all on board, we still have to win because that is the targets that belong to Manchester United.”
