Jeff Stelling has been left ‘shocked and saddened’ by news that Sky Sports are set to cut jobs, with Geoff Shreeves among those at risk of losing his role within the company.
It was previously reported that Shreeves could be in danger of losing his job with Sky considering more cuts in a huge shake-up.
This comes following the news that Soccer AM is on the scrapheap after nearly 30 years on the air at Sky.
Stelling, who has presented on Sky since 1994, is understood to be shocked by the potential axing of his colleagues such as Shreeves.
The 68-year-old has informed Sky chiefs that he will remain as host of Soccer Saturday but has told his friends that he has been left saddened by the recent news, according to The Times.

The report goes on to claim Stelling was not consulted as part of the proposed shake-up at Sky.
Sky have now launched a colsultation process that could lead to 13 football reporters, including Shreeves, needing to reapply for their jobs with some expected to lose their roles.
Stelling stepped back from Sky as he announced his retirement from football media before reversing this decision in March last year.
Shreeves arrived at Sky at the start of the Premier League and has become a household name for football fans for his pitchside reporting and post-match interviews.

However, with uncertainty surrounding Sky, Shreeves could see his future thrown into doubt but it is not believed that the restructuring would affect his colleague Stelling, depsite many of those working on Soccer Saturday at risk.
Sources previously told Sportsmail that reporters had been asked to reapply for their jobs.
However, this has been refuted by Sky, who claim the operation is about restructuring in a search for evolution and diversity.
A Sky spokesperson said: ‘Our coverage of football is evolving to reflect the changing habits of our viewers and ensures we continue to deliver the best experience for customers.
‘Our proposal would mean the creation of new roles, and the closing of some existing roles, and we are currently in a consultation period with our people.’
