Jeff Stelling pockets £5,000 winner from 'one of his great passions' a month after leaving Sky Sports | The Sun

LEGENDARY presenter Jeff Stelling celebrated a winner from "one of his greatest passions" at Fontwell.

Stelling, who left Sky Sports at the end of last season after being at the helm of Soccer Saturday, is part of the aptly-named Beautiful People syndicate.

The 68-year-old was at Fontwell to watch his horse Organdi, sent off 11-4 for the 3m2f handicap chase.

Victory didn't look likely as he was scrubbing along miles from home and looked to be labouring.

He eventually got rolling, however, and the short-price favourite Fairlawn Flyer was pulled up on the home turn when in front.

Sam Twiston-Davies and Organdi took full advantage to score by an enormous 21 lengths for trainer Richard Phillips.

Stelling was interviewed by Sky Sports Racing before the race and his enthusiasm was evident.

It's no surprise, as Stelling presented horse racing for Sky from 1992, when he joined the broadcaster.

He said: "Racing is one of my great passions, after football of course, but it's still up there.

"Fontwell's a local course to me and it's fantastic, it's wonderful to see the place so busy."

Organdi has been a productive horse for the syndicate, winning six of his 27 starts.

He's won them over £50,000 in prize money total, pocketing just over £5,000 for Sunday's win.

Stelling will join Talksport from December to present the Breakfast show every Monday and Tuesday.
