Leeds next manager odds: New favourites revealed with Alfred Schreuder ruled out, Steven Gerrard price crashes | The Sun

ANDONI IRAOLA and Nuno Espirito Santo are favourites for the Leeds job.

That's according to bookmakers Betfair, who've updated their next manager market following another flurry of activity.

Former Ajax boss Alfred Schreuder had shortened to odds-on 1-5 having attended Leeds' defeat to Manchester United on Sunday.

He was also given a tour of the club's training facility but reports suggest he's no longer in consideration and has returned to Holland.

The setbacks continue for Leeds, who've tried and failed with several candidates.

Feyenoord's Arne Slot ruled himself out of the running before Rayo Vallecano blocked an approach for Andoni Iraola.

Initial favourite Carlos Corberan opted to sign a new long-term contract with West Brom, and Celtic's Ange Postecoglou distanced himself from the role.

Under 21-coach Michael Skubala will continue in charge until a permanent appointment is made.

But time is running out before a difficult run of fixtures which includes relegation rivals Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Bookmakers Betfair have gone back to their original frontrunner in Iraola.

The 40-year-old has guided the Madrid side to sixth in La Liga this season, five points off the Champions League places.

Nuno Espirito Santo is next in the betting at 3-1.

The Portuguese tactician has been working in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad this season but is reportedly keen on a return to England.

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard was offered at 11-1 but has been slashed to 7-2 with options running out for the Yorkshire club.

Leeds have been without a manager since American Jesse Marsch, 49, was dismissed last Monday after less than 12 months in charge.

Leeds drew with Manchester United midweek, but succumbed to a 2-0 defeat on Sunday.

The result left them 17th in the division, a single point outside of the relegation zone but having played a game more than Everton.
