Luke Littler celebrated his astonishing debut World Darts Championship debut with a kebab and bottles of Fanta and Coke.

The 16-year-old delivered a scintillating display at Alexandra Palace to ease beyond Christian Kist 3-0, racking up an average of 106.12 and seven 180s along the way.

Amid chants of ‘you’ve got school in the morning’ from the Ally Pally, he cruised past his Dutch opponent into the second round where he will play current UK Open champion Andrew Gilding.

It was an incredible victory by the youngster who would have taken his GCSEs just six months ago, and is still too young to drink alcohol, vote, bet or drive.

So while his competitors might enjoy their victories during the tournament with a beer, Littler instead sticks to the soft drinks.

He said he would celebrate his win with a kebab and bottles of Coke and Fanta

His average of 106.12 is the best of the tournament so far, and he won nine of 11 legs inside 19 minutes of playing time.

The youngster, who is not allowed to wear a Paddy Power patch due to his age, said of his chances to win the tournament: ‘If I average 106 in every game from now on, I’ve got a chance.

‘All the nerves are out of the way now. This ranks at the top. It was crazy to see little kids with my own top on.

‘It was a massive experience. The crowd were always singing. I’m glad they were on my side and it helped me get over the line even more.

‘I couldn’t sleep on Tuesday night as I was so excited for this match.

‘Walking on, I was nervous but when I stepped on to the stage, I said: ‘Wow.’ I didn’t want to go into my own shell. I wanted to be myself and I did.’
