Man Utd announce 'newest signing' but are immediately hit with backlash from fuming fans | The Sun

MANCHESTER UNITED announced a new addition to the club this week, but fans are far from happy.

On Thursday, the Red Devils took to Twitter to reveal that they had signed a new sponsorship deal with American cosmetic company Estee Lauder.

The tweet was paired with a video to promote the company, with Marcus Rashford, Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw and Alejandro Garnacho all making a cameo.

However, Man Utd fans were all hoping for a different announcement.

Some wanted the club to announce the signing of goalkeeper Andre Onana, while others wished for an update on a potential takeover.

One person tweeted: "Kindly announce Onana please and thanks!"

Another added: "Announce Onana & The Takeover. This is football team. Not a beauty show."

A third wrote: "This club… My boys doing beauty ads. A commercial club indeed lol."

Another fan joked: "The collab I never thought I needed, let’s gooo models FC."

While one person commented: "Welcome to the circus @EsteeLauder. We won’t stop until they’re gone #GlazersOut."

Despite months of ongoing talks, Man Utd's owners, the Glazer family, are yet to agree a deal to sell the club.

Fans have since grown increasingly frustrated, with Rio Ferdinand even suggesting the Glazers are "suffocating" the club.

United supporters are also awaiting the arrival of Onana, who is on the verge of completing a £47.2million transfer.

The Red Devils reached an agreement with Inter Milan earlier this week.

The goalkeeper reportedly completed his medical on Wednesday, so fans are expecting an imminent introduction.
