MANCHESTER UNITED new boy Sofyan Amrabat will see his Fiorentina contract automatically extend by a year if United do not exercise their buy-option next summer.
That's according to The Mirror, who say that Fiorentina insisted on the "secret transfer clause".
Amrabat's transfer to United was one of the sagas of the summer, with the deal taking the form of a loan deal with an option for United to buy after months of haggling.
United dragged their heels on a deal because of Ten Hag's insistence on addressing other areas of the squad before signing Amrabat, 27.
In the end, Manchester United settled on an £8.5million loan fee with a £21.5million option to buy.
Fiorentina were extremely reluctant to let Amrabat go on loan, but his desire for the move in the end forced their hand.

The Florence club has taken measures to protect their asset though if United do not take up their buy option.
Amrabat's contract is due to expire in 2025, so having an automatic year extension if United do not snap him up will allow them to fetch a larger fee should he transfer elsewhere.
Amrabat was Fiorentina's captain last season as La Viola reached the Europa Conference League final.
But his insistence on a transfer to United saw him refuse to train for the Florence club, and he hardly played a part in pre-season.

Amrabat may have to wait to make his first appearance in a Manchester United shirt however.
The midfielder "felt something" when training with the Moroccan national team ahead of their games against Liberia and Burkina Faso.
He has since been sent back to Carrington to undergo assessment on the injury, with United back in action on Saturday against Brighton at Old Trafford.
