Should the move materialise, it would likely mean that the Glazer family would still retain a shareholding in the Red Devils.
Meanwhile, United target Federico Chiesa is unlikely to leave Juventus in January, according to transfer insider Gianluca Di Marzio.
Di Marzio said: "I don’t think Juventus want to let Chiesa go. He has started the season very well and he is their best player."

Scholes makes Hojlund comparison
Paul Scholes compared Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United legend Ruud Van Nistelrooy after his stellar performance on Tuesday.
The Danish striker scored two goals in the Red Devils' Champions League clash against Galatasaray.
Despite their defeat, United legend Scholes spotted some talent in 20-year-old Hojlund, who had another effort ruled out for offside, and even compared him to superstar ex-striker Val Nistelrooy.
He told TNT Sports: "There's a bit of Van Nistelrooy in there."

Lukaku facing jeers
Ex-Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku is facing a barrage of hate on his Inter Milan return – with 50,000 fans set to whistle his every touch, reports SunSport's Steve Goodman.
The Chelsea striker, 30, is currently on loan to Roma. He has scored four goals in six games so far.

I don’t think Juventus want to let Chiesa go. He has started the season very well and he is their best player. They want to win the title so I don’t think they want to let him go in January.
Honestly, I don’t even think that Chiesa wants to move away from Juventus after six months of the season.
Chiesa, more than other players, wants to stay because he is finally playing every game after his many injuries. So, a change in January would be a big risk for him. I think he wants to stay at least until June.
He wants to play the European competitions with Juventus and is focusing on being fit and doing well under [Italy manager Luciano] Spalletti. Obviously, with his technical abilities, he would be perfect for Man United and the Premier League.

Manchester United hero Louis Saha told Betfred his former club's "main problem" is the lack of creativity and efficiency in front of goal.
The main problem is their creativity and efficiency in front of goal.
In defence they continue to show signs of fragility, which is something that can happen when you don’t have a stable back four and so many injuries in that department.
Ultimately, the creativity isn’t there and many of the midfield and forward players aren’t making the right decisions when they find themselves in space.

For any player, you need to ensure that you’re doing the right thing for your career and you need to do everything possible to help your team. You can’t have an ego and act in a selfish manner.
At the end of the day, his boss is his manager and if Jadon wants to be his own boss, then that’s his ego. I don’t know who’s advising Jadon but he’s losing the battle.
Erik ten hag is still doing his job and managing the team, but Jadon isn’t doing his job at this very moment. He may be in training but his main objective is to perform on the pitch and he’s not doing that.
If you’re asked by your manager to do something then you have to do it, regardless of whether you’re happy with it or not. When you sign a contract with a club, you’ve got a duty to do what’s asked of you and try to perform to your best level, regardless of what’s been said about you.
Jadon has to accept this situation and it’s a pity that he doesn’t understand that he needs to do what’s asked of him. The only answer you have for criticism as a player is by performing on the pitch. When you perform and you’re at your best, then you can say whatever you want. When you’re not at your best, then you need to work hard.

I didn’t know I was poking him [Sir Alex]. I suppose I knew that it wasn’t something that the manager wouldn’t agree with, but as long as I’m turning up for training on time, and playing at the weekend to the standards, then it wouldn’t be a problem.
That’s what changed over the years – Cristiano [Ronaldo] came to the club, was doing what he was doing on and off the pitch, and the gaffer had softened at that point to a certain level. When
I was doing it, it was a different time.There were certain moments where the gaffer told me something, and I’m quite stubborn – even with my parents, when they told me to do something, I wouldn’t question it, but I’d be a bit hesitant, and I was the same with the manager.
At that point where the manager was telling me to do things and I wasn’t doing them, I suppose it goes back to when we talked about getting an agent and he told me to go with someone, he wanted me to go with someone and I didn’t – I went with someone he didn’t agree with. A shocking loophole allowed hundreds of Galatasaray fans to buy home tickets for Tuesday's Champions League victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
As United supporters cleared out of the stadium, it exposed hundreds of Galata fans in home seats staying behind to congratulate their team.
Irate Red Devils followers demanded to know how it was possible so many away fans had been able to snap up tickets meant for the home side.
And a loophole has now explained why so many Galatasaray fans were present in the home sections.
The Manchester giants only prohibited the sale of any home tickets to fans registered with a Turkish address.
And that opened the door for Galatasaray enthusiasts based in the UK and other countries to sign up as United fans, giving them access to thousands of home tickets.

Sergio Reguilon plan
Manchester United are considering rushing back Sergio Reguilon for Saturday’s crunch Premier League clash with Brentford.
United have been hit by numerous injuries this season, most notably to their defence.
Tottenham loanee Reguilon made a strong impact before also suffering an injury setback and has since been replaced at left-back by Sofyan Amrabat, a midfielder by trade.
But the Manchester Evening News report manager Erik ten Hag is considering rushing the Spain international back into the team for game against the Bees.
The 26-year-old is believed to have made good progress from a muscle injury that kept him out of the last two games.
And with an international break coming up, Reguilon may be risked against Brentford so United can have more stability in defence.

Manchester United is a "graveyard" for managers and players, according to club legend Gary Neville.
I feel very sorry for the manager, I know a lot of people will say he’s got to do a lot better, but there are a lot of big problems at the club that managers have found over the last ten years.
I think until those problems are solved we’ll still continue to see underperforming teams, underperforming players, it’s become a graveyard for coaches and players – it’s not too strong a term.
There are very few players that excel at Manchester United in this last ten years, they were all great players when they came to the club, they were all wanted by other clubs.
They won these players off of other clubs and then they end up coming to Manchester United and they end up not succeeding and not performing to their levels, why is that?
It’s because it’s not culturally correct to accept players in the way that it should do and we need to get that right.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag retains the full backing of club chiefs despite a shocking run of five defeats in seven games.
There is no desire amongst the owning Glazer family or Chief Executive Richard Arnold to make any changes despite the sudden downturn in performances and results.

Lisandro Martinez injury update
Manchester United have been dealt a major injury blow regarding Lisandro Martinez's fitness.
United will be without Martinez long-term after he underwent surgery on his injured metatarsal.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe bid
Manchester United bidder Sir Jim Ratcliffe is preparing an offer to buy a minority stake at Old Trafford.
Sources suggest Ratcliffe may buy 25 per cent of United for a figure in the region of £1.5billion.
The offer would see Sir Jim take an equal amount of A and B shares of the Red Devils.
The B shares are currently held by the Glazers, while A shares are publicly traded.
If Ratcliffe’s proposal is accepted, it means the unpopular owners will remain in control of the Manchester giants.
