Man Utd 'offer Christian Eriksen £150k-a-week transfer deal but Danish star will wait to see who else Ten Hag signs' | The Sun

MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly agreed to offer Christian Eriksen a £150,000-per-week contract.

However it's said the Danish star wants to wait and see who else new manager Erik ten Hag brings in to Old Trafford this window before offering his signature.

Eriksen, who spent the second half of last season on a short-term deal at Brentford, is a target for several Premier League clubs this window.

The 30-year-old is currently most likely to move to Manchester United, who are undergoing a transitional phase under their new manager.

New boss ten Hag is hoping to have a busy transfer window, and have there have been strong rumours regarding the potential signings of Tyrell Malacia of Feyenoord, Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona and the Ajax winger Antony.

It's believed that Eriksen wishes to wait and see if these signings get completed before committing to signing the contract on offer.

United are desperate to strengthen their squad and improve on what was a disappointing season last time out.

Under a combination of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick, the club could only manage a sixth place finish in the league, missing out on Champions League football next season, while exiting all three cup competitions in the early rounds.

Eriksen has also been linked with signing for Brentford, Newcastle, Everton and Tottenham, whom he's spent six-and-a-half years with already, this summer.

The midfielder was forced to have an extended break from his career after suffering a cardiac arrest during Denmark's opening Euro 2020 match last summer.

The midfielder was later fitted with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator, which Serie A do not permit, so his contract with Inter Milan, was terminated.

Brentford then signed the free agent, who helped drag the Bees out of a relegation battle and secured the club a 13th place finish in their first top-flight season since 1947.
