Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Takeover latest as Jim Ratcliffe 'considers minority stake offer', Martinez foot surgery | The Sun

SIR JIM RATCLIFFE is reportedly considering an offer to buy a minority stake in Manchester United.

Should the move materialise, it would likely mean that the Glazer family would still retain a shareholding in the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, United reportedly gambled on playing the Argentine on painkillers, and Martinez will now be sidelined with a broken metatarsal.

And the centre-back has successfully completed surgery on his right foot, according to reports.

    Man Utd takeover update

Manchester United bidder Sir Jim Ratcliffe is considering an offer to buy a minority stake at Old Trafford.

Sources claim Ratcliffe may buy 25 per cent of United for a figure in the region of £1.5billion.

The bid would see Sir Jim take an equal amount of A and B shares of the Red Devils.

The B shares are held by the Glazers, while A shares are publicly traded.

If Ratcliffe's proposal is accepted, it means the unpopular owners will remain in control of the club.

Man Utd trying to find 'mole' following social media leaks

Man Utd fear they have a mole within their ranks leaking sensitive information.

An anonymous account on X – formerly known as Twitter – has been sharing first-team news and injury updates before they are made public by the club.

The mystery leaker has stopped posting on match days.

But the account most recently issued injury updates regarding the fitness of Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Sergio Reguilon, who are all sidelined.

Much of the information is accurate, and confidential.

And, according to The Mail, the account has raised immense suspicion at Old Trafford.

And United chiefs believe someone connected with the club must be behind it.

Now the Manchester giants are said to be investigating in a bid to root out any possible moles.

    Ibrahimovic on Man Utd

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is worried Erik ten Hag doesn’t have the experience to handle Manchester United’s big egos.

Red Devils boss Ten Hag has binned Cristiano Ronaldo, David De Gea and Jadon Sancho since arriving at the start of last season.

Former United star Ibra, who has the biggest ego in the game, said: "Coming from Ajax to United as he did is a big difference — I have been in both clubs.

"You have a different kind of discipline.

"Ajax is a talented club. They have the best talents in the club. They don’t have big stars.

"What is the experience of this coach? Young talents, he comes to United, it is a different mentality. The players there are supposed to be big stars."

Raphael Varane told a packed press conference that Manchester United had enough quality to be the best team in Europe.

The silence around the room was deafening.

Frenchman Varane, 30, said: “Yes, I think so. The quality is in the squad.

“This competition is difficult. You have to take care of every detail but we have a team with quality, with a good mentality and we have to make some improvements.

“It’s not the start of the  season we expected but I still believe we have the quality enough to compete with the best teams in the world.”

Zaha gives hilarious response to Man Utd question

Wilfried Zaha left the media in hysterics as he revealed whether he was bothered by his failed Manchester United experience.

Following his team’s late arrival in Manchester yesterday, he sat down to face the media ahead of his latest comeback.

And he had reporters in stitches with his response about whether his previous struggles at United still affected him.

With a huge grin on his face, Zaha said: “I’ll be honest, when you look at my face do you think I am bothered at all? No.”

That was met by a huge roar of laughter from those in attendance, but the attacker did then go on to discuss his failed United stint a little more seriously.

He continued: “Realistically I think I went through a phase where you either build from it or you die out from it. And me personally, I was never going to die out from it. It built my character.

“I was determined to not let my career die out because I went somewhere and it didn’t work out.

“I was just determined to reach where I wanted to reach and I am here today.”

Man Utd fans fear Galatasaray boss

Man Utd fans are fearing the worst ahead of their upcoming Champions League clash after discovering who the opposition manager is.

The Red Devils face Galatasaray at Old Trafford on Tuesday as they look to get off the mark in the group stages after last month’s 4-3 defeat at Bayern Munich.

They go into the game with spirits low following Saturday’s dismal 1-0 home loss to Crystal Palace.

And the mood amongst the club’s fan base sank even further after they realised who will be in charge of Galatasaray tomorrow.

Okan Buruk, a former Turkish international in his playing days, took over the giants in 2022 and led them to the title in his first season in charge.

Prior to that role, he was the boss of rivals Istanbul Basaksehir, who he also guided to Super Lig success in 2020.

However, during that stint he also secured one of the club’s most famous victories.

Back in November 2020, Demba Ba and Edin Visca both scored as they beat Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United in the Champions league group stages.

    Mata on United vs Galatasaray

Juan Mata left Man Utd as a free agent last summer and went on to join Galatasaray for the 2022-23 season.

He has now had his say on tonight's game which sees the two sides meet in the Champions League.

In an interview with the United Review, he said: "When I saw the draw and this game, I was like ‘Oh, I wish I was there to experience coming back to Old Trafford with Galatasaray'.

"But I was so happy because I told my friends in Turkey that they will experience something unique, which is playing in a legendary place like Old Trafford.

"I’m really looking forward to hearing what they say after the game about how they felt playing there, about the energy of the place. And to my United friends I will tell them that Galatasaray are going to put up a fight.

"They’re a good team and a great squad, and if you go through the squad player by player, there are a lot of important players coming there from important leagues this season."

    Ibrahimovic on Ten Hag

Speaking to Piers Morgan for Piers Morgan Uncensored, the legendary striker added: "I think you need a plan, you need a project to follow, and it feels like you follow a project plan and then it goes wild in a moment because of the results.

"Either you believe in it or you don't believe in it. But with the situation of the coach, I think he is living two different situations now. Then obviously what happened with Sancho and Cristiano, I don't know.

"I think he needs more time to get the experience how to handle a team."

Ibrahimovic gives his verdict on Erik ten Hag

Speaking to Piers Morgan for Piers Morgan uncensored, the legendary striker said: "I don't say it's the coach's fault, because experience you cannot buy.

"You just have to get time to get the experience. But it's two different situations, being in Ajax, being in United. Then if it's his fault, I don't think, because I think everybody is responsible for the whole situation. We are a piece of a puzzle from the big puzzle.

"Everybody has a responsibility to do and to fulfil the demands. United has to win, they have to win every title they play for.

"Now they are being dominated by the neighbours and it's a totally different situation there. You need to find the right path again and to push for that."
