Breaking: Garnacho signs new deal
Alejandro Garnacho has signed a new five-year deal at Man Utd.
A club statement confirming the news said: "Manchester United is pleased to announce that Alejandro Garnacho has signed a new contract that will extend his stay at the club until 30 June 2028.
"The Academy graduate has already made 31 appearances for the senior team, at the age of 18."
Garnacho himself added: "When I joined this incredible club, I dreamt of achieving my debut, playing at Old Trafford, scoring my first goal and winning trophies with this badge on my chest.
"I feel very proud and emotional to have experienced these moments already, together with my family who have supported me every step of the way."

Ex-United star follows Dad's footsteps
Former Man United star Nani has seen his son follow in his footsteps after signing for his former club.
Son, Lucas, has signed a contract with Sporting Lisbon, where Nani played during his youth career.
Nani joined the Sporting CP youth team back in 2003, winning the National Junior Championship in 2004-05, before making his first-team debut early in the 2005-06 season.
He signed for Manchester United in 2007, who paid about £22million for the young winger.
The current Melbourne Victory player posted a picture on Twitter of Lucas signing a contract with Sporting.
He captioned it with an emoji of a pen, a green heart and a lion.

The lowdown on Neymar
The Brazilian attacker is considered one of the biggest talents in the world.
He is also his nation's joint top goalscorer ever, matching Pele's 77 goals.
And he would be a marquee signing for the club to signal the new owners' intentions moving forward.
He has scored 18 times in 29 games this season, but he has been hampered by ankle injuries.
And his inconsistent availability and reportedly mammoth £616k-per-week contract have led to rumours that PSG would be willing to part ways with him.
Neymar is still the most expensive player in world football following his £198million transfer from Barcelona to the Ligue 1 giants.
His contract at the Parc des Princes is set to run until 2025, although he has the option to extend it to 2027.

More on Neymar
Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani, the ambitious billionaire bidder from the Middle East, is eyeing the Brazilian as a marquee signing this summer.
It comes with the Glazers, the current club owners, currently seeking further investment in the club with a third round of bidding today.
Some suiters such as Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are targeting a full buyout of the Americans – however, neither party are yet to match the Glazers' £6billion price tag.
Should Sheikh Jassim be able to complete a takeover of the club SunSport understands that one of his first actions will be to make an incredible move to sign Neymar.

Harry Kane says he heard Manchester United supporters’ chants regarding a potential transfer move as he opened up on Daniel Levy’s meeting with the Tottenham squad.
The England captain played a key role in helping Tottenham come from behind to earn a 2-2 draw with United on Thursday.
And at half time of the game, when the Old Trafford club were leading by two, the visiting supporters were heard chanting: “Harry Kane, we'll see you in June.”
When asked about the songs from the away end last night, the star said: “I heard what they were saying but I'm just focussed on this team and trying to finish strongly.”

David attracts interest
Manchester United have been joined by Chelsea and Tottenham in the pursuit of Jonathan David, according to reports.
French outlet L'Equipe have claimed the trio are candidates to sign the Lille forward for just over £57million.
Only Kylian Mbappe has outscored the Canadian in Ligue 1 this season, with David netting 21 goals and adding four assists in 31 games.
United are desperate to stock up on striker options this summer, with David representing an intriguing alternative to the likes of Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane, who likely cost north of £100m.
And there is a growing expectation he will take the next step this summer.

It will come as a blow to United, who are understood to be interested as they look to add numbers to their own squad.

Maguire to be stripped of captaincy says Winterburn
Ex-Arsenal star Nigel Winterburn has warned Harry Maguire he will stripped of his captaincy if he does not leave Man United in the summer.
Speaking to Paddy Power, he said: "It's unlikely that Harry Maguire will be Manchester United’s club captain next year because you want your club captain to be playing regular football.
“He certainly won’t be club captain, but whether he looks for a move away depends on whether he feels he’s getting enough game time or can force his way back into the team.
“My gut feeling is that he’ll move on from Manchester United if he doesn’t get the reassurances that he’ll be after.
“It’s a difficult situation because modern players are used to playing less and still being part of the squad.”

'We lacked control' – blasts Eriksen
Christian Eriksen has admitted complacency played a part in United throwing away a two-goal lead over Tottenham.
Eriksen was controversially hooked in the 61st minute of the match, but did not hold back when talking about the loss.
He told BT Sport: "I think we took a bit of the gas off.
"That was our problem. I think it has been [like] that for a few games, where we are sharp and [have not] kept it going.
"I think we lost a bit of energy, a bit of control, and they got belief, and it went the other way. That's how it goes normally. When you are 2-0 down, anything can change quickly.
"We didn't have the control to finish them off, [and we] gave them the chance to score the first goal. That gave [them] belief."

Super prediction

Stat attack
Marcus Rashford's goal last night has distinguished him apart from his Man Utd colleagues.
His goal was not just significant for being his 29th of this season but also for being his 50th away goal in all competitions.
And this means he has now scored 19 more away goals for the Red Devils than any other player since his debut back in February 2016.

Ferdinand leaves BT studio in stitches
Rio Ferdinand left the BT Sport studio in stitches after a hilarious gaffe.
During the post-match analysis of United's 2-2 draw with Spurs, Ferdinand accidentally referred to defender Clement Lenglet as "Linglay".
His fellow pundits asked: “Who’s that?”
As they burst into laughter, the tongue-tied ex-England ace responded: “Ling… Ling… Ok sorry, pronunciations.”
As the laughter heightened, the embarrassed-looking Ferdinand said: “Are we at school?”

Fans blast Ten Hag subs
Manchester United fans have blasted the subs made by Erik ten Hag during their 2-2 draw with Tottenham.
The Dutchman replaced Christian Eriksen and Sancho for Fred and Anthony Martial in the 61st minute.
He then fired off another double change ten minutes later in the form of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Antony being replaced by Tyrell Malacia and Wout Weghorst.
Fans blasted the Dutchman's tactics on Twitter, with one saying: "Ten Hag has started making the wrong substitutions. Should have just left that starting 11."
A second commented: "Erik ten Hag's substitutions were a mess."
A third typed: "I don’t want to blame Ten Hag but the subs killed the game. After the first half the only substitution we needed was Antony off for Sabi and Bruno to the right."
A fourth remarked: "Erik ten Hag took a wrecking ball to Manchester United's performance with his substitutions."
Another raged: "Ten Hag made another dumb substitution to bring on Weghorst. Nah…he shoulda lost the match!!!"

Fans confused by Ten Hag 'good draw' claim
Fans were left confused after Erik ten Hag claimed the 2-2 against Spurs was a "good draw".
The Dutchman said: "We are disappointed – we were 2-0 up. We had the chances to make it 3-1 which we didn't take.
"We were not good over the 90 minutes, we did not play brilliant. After half-time, being up 2-0, we had to score another goal…
"We need energy and we have to be ready for Sunday (against Aston Villa). But in the end, good draw.”
But fans were left wondering whether he had lost the plot online, with one saying: "Ten Hag just said 2-2 is a good draw has he lost the plot."
A second wrote: “Bottling a 2-goal lead against a rubbish Spurs and calling it a good draw. Last few interviews of Ten Hag give me Ole vibes.”
Another commented: “‘A good draw’ when we were 2-0 up Ten Hag I like you bro but what are you talking about???”

Ten Hag blasts stars
Following Man Utd's 2-2 draw at Tottenham, Erik ten Hag took no prisoners in criticising his team.
He fumed: "We were not ready, some thought 90 per cent was enough.
"We lose focus, that is why we gave balls away and then you concede goals. That was the case and you lose control of the game.
"It has to be 100 per cent, you have to bring every time. I know that they are not robots and it is a tough schedule but we can't accept it.
"When you are a player for Man United, wearing the shirt, you have to give. Every occasion, every game.
"As a team you have to manage the game, get the win and then everyone is happy.
"The base is always to give everything, you have to prepare as a player to be ready for the game, the battle, the fight."

Ex-star launches stinging attack
Former Manchester United star Marcos Rojo has launched a stinging attack against Harry Maguire and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Speaking to TyC Sports, he said: "In 2019 I was playing in the Europa League, but I was really angry with the Manchester coach [Solskjaer] because he was putting Maguire [in the team] instead of me, who thank god finally they took him out from the starting line-up for Licha [Lisandro] Martinez.
"One day I went to Solskjaer’s office to tell him to let me leave for the other club or put [me] in the starting line-up, but he told me that Maguire had to play yes or yes because of the money they paid for him.
"He [Maguire] was making huge mistakes already and I told Solskjaer: 'Son of a b***h let me play because this guy is making huge mistakes every week'."

MORNING UTD FANS
Erik ten Hag claims he "saw it coming" as United slumped from 2-0 up to a 2-2 draw at Spurs.
Pedro Porro and Son Heung-min cancelled out recalled winger Jadon Sancho's fine early opener and Marcus Rashford's strike, although Bruno Fernandes somehow only hit the bar from nine yards at 2-1.
Nonetheless, Ten Hag believes home victory over Aston Villa this Sunday will complete a "great week" that started with reaching the FA Cup final.
The Red Devils boss said: "We didn't play that well. We were not clinical enough but we scored two times and then you have to finish the game.
"Before, I think a draw was ok but when you see this game you have to get over the line.
"We concede the goal and we could see it coming and the subs were too late."
Bayern Munich have been linked with a shock summer move for United anchorman Casemiro.
The Brazil midfielder, 31, only arrived at Old Trafford from Real Madrid for £70million last summer.
And Brentford's Davis Raya is the keeper currently being mentioned most as a possible summer target for Ten Hag, with David de Gea yet to sign a new deal.

Chelsea and United linked to Raya
Chelsea are monitoring Brentford pair Ivan Toney and David Raya as the struggling Blues begin their summer rebuild.
The London club lost for the fifth time last night against their West London neighbours.
But Football London report that they have an eye on both Brentford’s main striker Toney and their no.1 Raya.
Manchester United have also been linked to the Bees keeper in case they need a replacement for David De Gea.

Sub ratings
ANTHONY MARTIAL (FOR SANCHO, 61 MINS) – 4
Did next nothing, a total waste of a change by United when they needed to regain the initiative.
FRED (FOR ERIKSEN, 61 MINS) – 5
Plenty of energy but not a lot of quality as he buzzed around, misplacing passes and making clumsy fouls.
TYRELL MALACIA (FOR WAN-BISSAKA, 71 MINS) – 5
Allowed Kane the freedom to cross for the equaliser but improved to be United's most effective sub.
WOUT WEGHORST (FOR ANTONY, 71 MINS) – 5
Put himself about a bit, which was more than Martial did, but to little effect.
Not used: Butland, Sabitzer, Pellistri, Williams, Elanga.
- Ian Tuckey
Front 3 ratings
ANTONY – 5
Most significant moment of the first half was being bawled out by Ten Hag for lying on the ground after not being awarded a free kick.
Did nothing after the break and should have been subbed instead of Sancho. Still doesn’t look like an £80million player.
JADON SANCHO – 7
Justified his recall inside seven minutes with a well-taken goal and would have had another but for Perisic’s block on the line.
His boss will have loved seeing him nick one off Kane’s toe in his own half, too. Unlucky to be taken off.
MARCUS RASHFORD – 7
Restored to centre forward, he first turned provider by finding Sancho for the opener. Denied twice by Forster, but not a third time as he smashed home United's second.
Quiet in the second half as Spurs came back into it.
- Ian Tuckey
Midfield ratings
CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN – 5
Given a warm welcome on his return and obliged with a poor performance.
Passes went uncharacteristically astray. Turned his back on Porro shot that brought Spurs back into it. Could have no complaints about substitution.
CASEMIRO – 6
Kept things ticking along for United in first half but without really grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck as he had done previously, which meant Spurs were never quite out of it even at 2-0 down.
Could not stem second half tide and missed late header.
BRUNO FERNANDES – 6
Very quiet until his 25th-minute shot forced a save out of Forster.
Came into the game more and then found a killer pass for Rashford to score United's second.
But he should have put United 3-1 up straight after Spurs' first goal.
- Ian Tuckey
Man Utd ratings – defence
DAVID DE GEA – 7
Untroubled for most of the first half but made two smart stops from Perisic before United grabbed their second.
Helpless for both goals and left exposed by a defence that gave up chance after chance in the second period.
AARON WAN-BISSAKA – 6
Played high and wide in the first half to stretch the pitch and give United room to play. Made important defensive interventions, too.
Like the rest of the team,he was forced on to the back foot by Spurs' revival, but coped better than Dalot at least.
VICTOR LINDELOF – 6
The unlikely hero of Wembley had a decent first half against Tottenham’s front three.
Important headed clearance early in second half but lost composure a bit and was lucky not to see a second yellow card for a foul on Son.
LUKE SHAW – 7
Who needs a World Cup-winning centre half like Lisandro Martinez when you’ve got Shaw? In the right place at the right time, almost all the time.
The only United defender to keep his head as Spurs turned the game around.
DIOGO DALOT – 5
One of Ten Hag’s less heralded success stories did his job well again filling in for Shaw at left back in the first half and helped Sancho make his impact.
But he was caught out of position as Spurs surged and lost Son for the equaliser.
- Ian Tuckey
RESULT: Spurs 2 Man Utd 2
United's control and deserved 2-0 lead fell apart after the break as resurgent Tottenham nicked a draw.
It means Newcastle are clear in third place, two points above the Red Devils.
