BBC Breakfast presenter hospitalised with knee injury as co-stars share messages of support | The Sun

A BBC BREAKFAST presenter has been hospitalised with a nasty knee injury as his co-stars share messages of support.

The flagship Beeb programme's sports presenter John Watson told fans about his hospital dash.

John posted a photo to his Twitter account to reveal his injury.

He shared a picture of him lying in a hospital bed and wearing a gown, with a bandage on his leg.

"Less of a dash more of a hop to the studio come Monday," he said.

The journalist revealed he had torn his meniscus, damaging the cartilage between the bones in his knee.

This typically happens when the knee twists while playing sport resulting in pain, stiffness and swelling.

Fans rushed to wish John well – including one of his BBC Breakfast co-stars.

Jon Kay humorously said: "Take care, John. I’ve got a glittery sock for the other foot if you need it."

One fan also said: "John! Hope you're ok mate!"

Another said: "Oh no. Get well soon mate. More bad news for Ryan Mason."

"Hope you’re ok John! Wishing you a speedy recovery," commented another fan.

It seems John is accident-prone after he revealed another painful-looking injury earlier this month.

He shared how he smashed his face on a door just hours before the coming on air.

John posted side by side pictures of him on the BBC Breakfast set and how he had looked hours before.

He wrote: "The joys of getting dressed in the dark at 4am… (I really do need to watch out for those doors) not that you’d notice, great job from the brekkie make up team."

In the first snap, one of John's eyelids was puffed up, dark red and with a cut near his eyebrow.

In the second, he was suited and booted for his presenting gig with his eye injury barely visible.
