Marc Cucurella transfers news – latest odds: Chelsea just edge Man City as favourites to land £50m Brighton star | The Sun

CHELSEA are the frontrunners to sign Brighton ace Marc Cucurella – marginally ahead of Manchester City.

That's according to Betfair who have the Stamford Bridge outfit as 5/4 favourites to land the left-back.

The short odds comes after news Chelsea had reportedly tabled an official £50million bid for the Brighton star.

The Spaniard is also allegedly pushing for the deal to be done.

Chelsea youngster Levi Colwill was also thought to be included in the deal having been a target for the Seagulls.

Cucurella has been heavily linked with a move to Man City for several weeks.

He was seen as the perfect replacement for Oleksandr Zinchenko who departed the Etihad for Arsenal earlier in the window.

Their interest cooled as Brighton stuck to their guns with their valuation of the club's player of the year last season.

But City are still in the betting with Betfair at 6/4 second favourites to sign Cucurella this summer.

Brighton seem determined to keep hold of the flying full-back unless their demands are met.

Cucurella has taken matters into his own hands to try and force a move through by handing in a transfer request.

But the seaside club have already received £25million for Yves Bissouma this summer and seem in no rush to sell.

  • Arsenal 14/1

Amongst the other clubs quoted in the betting, Barcelona are next best at 8/1 with Betfair.

A switch to the Nou Camp could tempt the Spaniard though they have spent quite a considerable amount so far in this window to rebuild the team under Xavi.

La Liga rivals Getafe are 12/1 to re-sign Cucurella having sold him to Brighton last summer.

Arsenal are next at 14/1 to splurge more on a left-back.

They have Kieran Tierney and new-boy Zinchenko in their ranks so a move to North London would appear unlikely.
