McGregor makes hasty exit from Liverpool pub before bizarre voice note

Police probe pub fight at Conor McGregor’s late aunt’s wake after the UFC star was seen making a hasty exit in his Range Rover… before posting bizarre voice note saying: ‘Murder, murder, Birkenhead is mine’

  • He spent afternoon in a pub and was filmed making a swift exit from premises
  • Police confirmed there was a fight inside but no arrests have been made

A fight broke out in a Liverpool pub at the wake of Conor McGregor’s late aunt Pamela, police have confirmed.

McGregor was in attendance and was filmed making a hasty exit from the venue, before sharing a bizarre voice note claiming: ‘Birkenhead is his’.

The full recording has the Irishman, 35, feigning a Liverpool accent, saying: ‘Murder, murder, everybody out. Scousers on the golly. Birkenhead is McGregor’s.’

The venue in question is The Saddle Club, a pub in the Wirral area, and the UFC superstar was filmed on Tuesday swiftly marching towards his Range Rover with personal security guards following.

McGregor takes a glance over his shoulder towards the entrance of the venue before repeatedly pulling the door handle until it was unlocked seemingly from the inside by the driver.

The pub also serves as an event space and was used for a wake by the McGregor family

He was filmed by local children and on the clip, voices can be heard in the background claiming there’s been ‘beef’ and that someone has had a ‘straightener’.

The MMA fighter is rapidly driven off and it remains to be seen if anything untoward occurred inside the pub despite widely made claims online of a ‘fight’.

A spokesperson told the ECHO: ‘We were called to The Saddle pub in Prenton, Wirral, at 7.50pm last night, Tuesday 18th July, to reports of an altercation.

“Officers attended the pub and spoke to a number of people. Further enquiries are being carried out to establish what has taken place but at this stage no complaints have been made and nobody has been arrested.”

McGregor was in Liverpool for the funeral of his late aunt Pamela, who passed away last month.

He shared a number of images on his own social media pages en route to the funeral via private jet, as well as snaps from the wake.

McGregor remains the biggest name in combat sports despite the fact that he hasn’t fought in two years.

He has fully recovered from the broken leg he suffered against Dustin Poirier in 2021 and remains in line to face Michael Chandler in his next bout.

The former two-weight champion has coached against the American on The Ultimate Fighter but fans have been frustrated by the lack of announcement of a fight date.

McGregor is understood to have to be in the USADA testing pool for six months before he can fight again in the UFC.

But there have been hints at exemptions and even though Dana White previously cast doubt on whether McGregor would come back, the man himself says he is ready.

McGregor said: ‘I’m training for my own fight,’ when asked if he’d help either Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg train for their touted contest.

And his manager Audie Attar exclusively told DailyMail.com: ‘Listen, you can’t rule this year out, but we’re definitely gearing up for a strong matchup with Michael Chandler.

‘The Ultimate Fighter is currently obviously airing right now. Our team’s not doing so well on the show, but that doesn’t mean that the real fight is going to result in the same way.

‘So, I’m excited about that matchup,’ he continued.

‘It’s going to be a great matchup versus Chandler. Look for it to happen, if not this year. For sure. For sure. Let’s do the beginning of next year.’
