MICAH RICHARDS was slammed by Jamie Carragher for suggesting the Champions League final should be played in New York.
The former Manchester City and Liverpool stars are travelling out to the US in a couple of weeks as pundits for special editions of their CBS football show – which also features Kate Abdo and Thierry Henry.
And the three ex-players were jokingly asked whether the Champions League final should be played while they are out there at the end of October.
To which an enthusiastic Richards responded: "100 per cent. Why not?"
Carragher then hit back by saying: "Because there's no American teams in it!"
And presenter Abdo backed up the Merseyside legend, adding: "Because it's a European competition."
