Michael van Gerwen hits beach with bikini-clad wife Daphne as darts legend celebrates ninth anniversary | The Sun

DARTS legend Michael van Gerwen has taken a sunshine break with his stunning wife Daphne.

The two relaxed on the beach in Ibiza on Thursday as they enjoyed some time away from the darts life.

Van Gerwen, 34, looked in a relaxed mood as he strolled without his shirt on while at the Cala Bassa Ibiza beach club.

Wife Daphne looked wonderful as she sported a leopard print bikini on the sun loungers.

The couple celebrated their ninth anniversary since tying the knot in 2014 on Tuesday.

They share two children, a son and a daughter together.

The world No.2 has recently revealed that he will be having surgery on his jaw which could see him fitted with braces.

In a social media statement, he wrote: "I just wanted to send an update to everyone following my recent dental surgery and my return to action Saturday.

"Firstly, I'd like to thank all my friends for their support in recent weeks, and also congratulate Raymond for his win over me in Trier, his finishing was brilliant.

"After winning the Premier League and US Darts Masters recently, I needed to have pre-planned dental and jaw surgery which meant that I missed the World Cup of Darts.

"With the schedule being so busy it is always hard to fit in anything like this, especially with an operation which involves a lot of recovery time.

"In my case, I might not look or sound the same for a little while and I'll soon have braces fitted as well as needing some further surgery in the future.

"I don't want this to affect my performances in the Poland Darts Masters and World Matchplay coming up and I'll be trying my best to win both events, but at the moment I'm also still recovering and hope that everyone can understand this."

Van Gerwen finished runner-up in the world championship as he lost to Michael Smith in the final back in January.

However, in June the Dutchman bounced back to grab his second bet365 US Darts Masters title in New York.

Though last month he was beaten in the first round of the World Matchplay Darts in Blackpool by Brendan Dolan.
