Moment Ex Premier League and BBC star Jermaine Jenas is caught after using his phone while driving as he faces £1k fine | The Sun

EX Premier League and BBC star Jermaine Jenas faces a £1,000 fine after being caught using his phone at the wheel.

The former Tottenham and England footballer, 39, could also six points on his licence after he today admitted texting while driving.

And a new photo shows the moment he was pulled over after we told yesterday how the pundit faced a driving ban after being caught last October in Stanmore, North London.

The picture, included in court documents and released by the Metropolitan Police, shows Jenas standing in front of his car at the roadside, wearing a baseball cap.

PC Neil Cornelius told Bromley magistrates court he saw Jenas' Range Rover just after 3pm when he was on patrol.

He added in a witness statement: "I noticed that the driver of this vehicle was using a handheld mobile device whilst driving.

He said Jenas confirmed he was using the phone when pulled over, adding: "I could see the subject texting on the handheld device."

Jenas did not attend court and entered his guilty plea through his lawyers, the Evening Standard reports.

Jenas, from Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, was prosecuted after failing to respond to an offer of a Fixed Penalty Notice.
