Maguire BOOED during Real Madrid clash

Harry Maguire was repeatedly booed during Manchester United’s pre-season friendly with Real Madrid last night.

United fell to a 2-0 defeat by Madrid after £115million new signing Jude Bellingham opened the scoring for the Spanish side after six minutes.

United, wearing their controversial new away shirt, then huffed and puffed in search of an equaliser before new Madrid signing and former Stoke City man Joselu put the game to bed with an 89th minute goal.

But it was another night to forget for Maguire.

The defender came on in the 62nd minute for Raphael Varane as Erik Ten Hag rotated his pre-season team.

And despite not really putting a foot wrong, Maguire was welcomed onto the pitch to boos throughout the United game at the NRG Stadium in Houston Texas.

He was then booed every time he had possession as he looked to play out from the back.

    Kobbie Mainoo limps off

Manchester United suffered a nightmare opening in a friendly against Real Madrid, losing starlet Kobbie Mainoo to an injury TWO minutes after kick-off.

And it immediately got worse for the Red Devils as while they were temporarily down to 10 men, Jude Bellingham opened the scoring.

Mainoo got hurt in a particularly unfortunate manner.

Casemiro fouled Rodrygo as he charged past his fellow Brazilian and charged at Andre Onana's goal.

As the Real Madrid star lost balance, he fell to the ground while also taking down Mainoo.

The 18-year-old midfielder needed medical attention after the collision.

He then limped off the field with the help of United trainers.
