BRING ON THE NIGHT (5.00 Ascot, nap)

Flat winner in France for Andre Fabre and yard loves this race.

Gordon Elliott brings the obvious class in the shape of Triumph Hurdle third Pied Piper but I think this raider has the edge.

JUAN DE MONTELBAN (6.10 Ascot, nb)

Impressive here last time and looks capable of better.

Trainer Kevin Philippart De Foy has been sensational so far this season and arrives in top form.

PERSIAN FORCE (3.05 Ascot, treble)

A supersonic two-year-old who has won both races with lots in hand and appears a genuine star in the making.

Kia Joorabchian's Amo Racing have splashed serious cash in recent years and this £225,000 purchase can prove money well spent.

ROYAL ASCOT TUESDAY VERDICTS

BAAEED is regularly called the best British horse since Frankel and he can follow in his great hoofprints by winning the Queen Anne.

Frankel took this by 11 lengths in 2012 and, while it’s not likely to be quite so easy for William Haggas’s star today, it would be a major shock if he didn’t get the job done.

He kept up his 100 per cent win record with a convincing comeback win in the Lockinge at Newbury last month.

That was his third Group 1 success in a row, including the QEII Stakes here in October so there are no worries about the track.

He should improve for that first run in seven months and take another step closer to Frankel in the hall of fame.

If you’re betting without the favourite or doing a forecast, it may be worth taking a chance on Lights On to take the runner-up spot at long odds.

He put in just about the best performance of his career when winning the Group 2 Bet365 Mile at Sandown last time.

He has run well a couple of times at Ascot and Sir Michael Stoute horses hold their form well as they get older.

Real World was no match for Baaeed in the Lockinge but he took second nicely ahead of Chindit at Newbury and can confirm that form.

Order Of Australia was well beaten in this last season but has had his moments since including when second in the Moulain at Longchamp.

He has a tongue tie on for the first time, which may help but he must raise his game.

3.05

PERSIAN FORCE can go one better than his dad Mehmas and win the Coventry Stakes.

He had the stopwatches exploding when running away with the Brocklesby Stakes at Doncaster on debut.

The form of that season-opener has worked out brilliantly and Richard Hannon’s flyer showed his liking for this trip when scoring at Newbury very sweetly last time. There’s more to come.

Ryan Moore had a tough choice of the Aidan O’Brien pair as there’s not much between his mount Blackbeard and Age Of Kings, who has Frankie on board.

They both won well at The Curragh last time and are proven at this trip.

Bradsell had nine lengths in hand when winning on debut at York over this trip. He deserves his place here and has a real chance.

Rousing Encore didn’t have that much to beat at Pontefract but he did it very smartly. He enjoyed moving up to this trip and he has place claims.

Royal Scotsman left his debut fourth here behind with an easy win at Goodwood. He travelled well so should cope with this hotter company.

TWILIGHT CALLS was unlucky when just pipped by King's Lynn in the Temple Stakes at Haydock and can turn the form around.

He looked full of running but didn’t get a clear run until it was too late. Ascot should suit him.

King's Lynn has place claims at a price but may not hold on this time.

Golden Pal has been awesome in America and won the Breeders’ Cup brilliantly in November. He has lots of speed but he has been beaten on his two UK starts, including when just collared in the Norfolk Stakes here in 2020.

There’s a fear he won’t last home again.

Nature Strip comes from Australia having won almost £10 million. He’s seven but looked as good as ever in winning another Group 1 last time.

The worry is his best form has come in soft ground but he’s well respected.

Man Of Promise has strong form in Dubai and goes best when fresh so his 80-day break is a plus.

Clive Cox does well in Ascot sprints and his Tis Marvellous won well here in October. He will be fitter for his comeback at HQ and has an each-way shout.

Mooneista likes this trip and is another to note coming from Ireland.

THE bookies aren’t giving much away but it’s hard to get away from COROEBUS who was a game winner of the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket on his first run of the season.

He picked up very nicely there and should take another step forward with that run under his belt.

This is no open and shut case though with My Prospero looking a nice prospect when scoring at Sandown last month.

That was only a Listed race but he’s highly rated by William Haggas and he has a lot more to offer.

Maljoom won the German Guineas when still looking pretty green. He had to make up a lot of ground late on but ending up winning with plenty up his sleeve.

It wouldn’t take much improvement from that to make him a major contender.

Mighty Ulysses has an each-way shout at a big price. He is taking a step up from handicap level after a good effort at Haydock.

Frankie Dettori takes over for the Gosdens who wouldn’t pitch him into this without a chance.

Angel Bleu ended his two-year-old season winning a Group 1 in St Cloud. He looked to have trained on well enough when beaten just over a length in the Greenham at Newbury on comeback. That was over seven furlongs and this mile suits better.

Lusail wasn’t disgraced when sixth in the Guineas for Richard Hannon. He showed a lot of speed at sprint trips last season but saw out the mile at Newmarket and is one of many with an each-way shout.

New Energy showed a lot more when second in the Irish Guineas but needs extra.

Keep an eye on the betting for clues about Ballydoyle runner Aikhal on his three-year-old debut.

BRING ON THE NIGHT can keep up Willie Mullins’ excellent record in this race.

He has won it four times with a further five places. He scored in a couple of races on the level in France before moving to Ireland to go hurdling.

He was fourth in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle but doesn’t look a natural jumper and this is more suitable.

Ryan Moore takes the ride and they won’t be far away.

Pied Piper is better than the tip over timber and was third in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham.

He showed some promise on the Flat when with John Gosden and will be a big threat if seeing out this trip.

Hughie Morrison is a past master with stayers and his Surrey Gold was a neck second over 1m6f at Goodwood last month.

He finished that race strongly so should enjoy this longer distance.

Reshoun was a shock winner of this 12 months ago but has failed to score since.

He’s now back to the same handicap mark and it would be no surprise to see him bounce back.

Marshall Plan was just pipped in the red-hot all-weather marathon at Newcastle in April.

He looks on a fair weight and has more to offer over this sort of distance.

Make My Day was unlucky at Goodwood nine days ago. He had to settle for second after being boxed in late on. He finished well but the winner had flown. He’s off the same mark with an each-way shout under Richard Kingscote.

CADILLAC motored home impressively to win in this class at Leopardstown last time.

He tanked along and settled the contest quickly. That was over a furlong shorter but he stays well and can go close.

Juan Elcano peaked when winning this last season. He enjoyed himself around here and was given a quiet comeback race at Sandown last time so he should be spot-on for fitness.

Certain Lad looks overpriced after his comeback second in a Chester Group 2 at their May meeting. He had to make up a lot of ground after missing the break but finished well and was entitled to need that after 18 months off.

Majestic Dawn was impressive at Goodwood under a good Jim Crowley ride. He’ll try to nick it from the front again.

Foxes Tales won the Golden Gates Handicap at last year’s meeting before taking Group 3 honours. He has had a couple of quiet runs this season but can show his true self here for in-form Andrew Balding.

Harrovian was outclassed in Group 1 company last time but likes this trip and will be happier in this grade. Fast ground suits the Gosden runner.

Perotto wasn’t beaten far in a hot contest at Newmarket when last seen in September. He won the Britannia Stakes here last year over a mile but sees out this trip well.

6.10

JUAN DE MONTELBAN was highly impressive when winning a hot handicap over 1m4f here last month.

That was on debut for his excellent trainer and he gives the impression that this longer trip will bring even more improvement.

Cleveland came with a late swoop to win the Chester Cup a shade cheekily last time. He had to pick his way through the pack and a 5lb rise for that looks more than fair. He looks a major danger.

Stowell ran a decent race in Listed company when the drop back in trip didn’t suit. He’ll be happier with this stamina test and was a good third in the Group 2 Queen’s Vase last season so has a touch of class about him.

Put a line through Bandinelli’s shocker at Haydock last time as he’d won four of his five runs before that.

He stays two miles and likes to go from the front so William Buick will try to make this a real stamina test that could catch a few of them out.

Okita Soushi was thrown into a Curragh Listed race on just his third start last month.

He looked a real stayer when finishing second over 1m4f and there should be a lot more to come.

Not So Sleepy is a Grade 1 winner over hurdles and was second off this mark when last seen on the Flat so can’t be dismissed.
