Jack Harrison makes up for his own-goal as he curls a beautiful effort from the left of the box into the top corner. Brilliant finish.

Great save from Fraser Forster!

In-swinging corner by Morgan Gibbs-White and it’s ever so nearly a goal for his Serge Aurier on his return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but Forster does well to parry the ball over the bar.

He then makes another save from Dennis. He’s had a quiet game so far but he’s done really well to make sure Spurs still have a chance of a clean sheet.

Chris Wood has only been on the pitch six minutes… and he’s already off with an injury as full-back Neco Williams comes on in his place.

71 mins: This time it’s a yellow for Dier after he gives away a foul on Ayew.

69 mins: Skipp dives in on Dennis and it’s a mis-timed challenge and the referee gives him a yellow.

Johnson and Freuler are both off with Woods and Yates coming on in their place.

Game over.

Romero plays a one-two with Porro before finding Richarlison clips a ball in for Son who takes a few touches before firing the ball into the bottom corner.

It’s a blow for Forest who have had a better start to this half but they’ve opened up and Spurs have been able to punish them in clinical fashion.

Just moments earlier Brennan Johnson had Forest’s first shot on target – how different this could have been he had found the net.

Brighton have taken the lead and it’s from an own goal by Jack Harrison! Solly March will try and claim it but it is the Leeds man who puts the ball in the back of the net as he tries to clear it.

Couple of half-chances from Forest as Shelvy tries his luck with a long-range volley but there’s a good chance when Worrall knocks a free-kick down for Felipe who hooks an effort over the bar.

A goal now could change things

56 mins: After a lacklustre first-half display Forest have started this half a lot better. Gibbs-White had a free-kick in a dangerous area which Tottenham did well to clear. But there has been a lot more attacking intent in these opening ten minutes for Forest than in the entirety of the first-half.

Lodi though has gone into the referee’s book after a cynical pull-back on Richarlison was enough to ensure him a yellow card.

Tottenham get us back underway, can they build on their 2-0 lead or can Nottingham Forest somehow get themselves into this game?

Forest have made changes at the break with Ayew on for Mangala and Lingard off for Dennis. So both players who were brought in for today’s game have both gone off.

Everton 1-0 Brentford

Leeds 1-1 Brighton

Leicester 1-2 Chelsea

Tottenham 2-0 Nottingham Forest

The half-time whistle goes and Tottenham have a two goal lead after a brace from Harry Kane – who is now only seven goals behind Erling Haaland in the race for the Golden Boot.

Richarlison had the ball in the back of the net but that was cruelly ruled offside – a decision that didn’t look clear when VAR brought the lines out.

But Kane put his side up 1-0 with a header, before doubling his lead from the penalty spot after a foul on Richarlison.

Just the kind of performance Antonio Conte will have been hoping for after their recent cup exits.

Demarai Gray has the ball in the back of the net but there is a VAR review and it’s ruled out for offside. The ball appears to hit his arm before going into the net off his chest.

Bamford levels for Leeds after a brilliant touch to get the ball past Caicedo and then his strike goes in off the underside of the bar via a deflection from Webster.

Tottenham will be going six points clear of Liverpool in the fight for the top-four though the Reds would have a game-in-hand.

Forest meanwhile will be just three points clear of the drop-zone after Bournemouth’s victory, and with Everton also winning.

Harry Kane sends the penalty straight down the middle, 2-0 and it’s going to be a big ask for Forest to get back into this.

Much more composed than Mohamed Salah’s in the early kick-off!

Also that’s hos first penalty since missing one for England at the World Cup.

It’s a reckless challenge from Worrall on Richarlison and the penalty is given. Harry Kane going for his brace…

Alexis Mac Allister with his ninth goal of the season a he bundles the ball home after Kaoru Mitoma sent a dangerous header across the box.

29 mins: From a free-kick Son dinks it over a defender to Kane but the Spurs striker doesn’t get good connection and there’s good defending by Aurier in there before the ball falls to Keylor Navas.

8 – Harry Kane has scored eight headed goals in the Premier League this season – only Duncan Ferguson has ever scored more in a single campaign (9 in 1997-98). Noggin. pic.twitter.com/M6f6IWopK4

Spurs feel that Worrall leant into Kane as the ball comes into the box again but there’s no penalty and no VAR check.

This one will count and it is thanks to some lovely work from Richarlison!

It was great play down the right involving him, Pedro Porro and Davies before the whall is whipped into the box and Harry Kane heads it back from where it came from and the ball hits the back of the net.

Shelvy gives away a silly free-kick that Son will whip into the box.

His cross finds the head of Romero, who is keen to put things right after his red card against AC Milan, but his header goes all wrong. He would have been offside

Meanwhile there has been a goal at Leicester as Ben Chilwell has scored against his former side.

From the lines that were drawn it’s very hard to see the offside it must have been an incredibly tight decision!

Nottingham Forest look to have been spurred on by that decision and are starting to get a bit more of the ball.

Meanwhile there has been a goal at Goodison Park as Dwight McNeil has scored a rare goal rifling his shot past David Raya inside the first 35 seconds in that match.

Huge goal at the bottom of the table.

You can’t make this up

It’s a ridiculously marginal call but the Brazilian is ruled offside after a VAR check

The wait continues!

It just had to be him!!!!

He finally has his first Premier League goal. It’s a lovely ball from Skipp towards the Brazilian who hits the ball on the half-volley into the roof of the net.

Magnificent finish but….. is he offside?

Nottingham Forest get us underway at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Tottenham and Nottingham Forest are making their way out onto the pitch! We are about ready to get underway…

Conte didn’t want to address the Richarlison topic but said that he selected the best starting XI and needed the ‘best players in this moment’.

Nottingham Forest have won three of their four prior away games at Tottenham in the league – though is their first trip to Spurs in the top-flight since 1998.

Tottenham have won 28 of their last 31 Premier League home games against promoted sides, with their only defeat coming against Wolves in 2018-19.

Nottingham Forest meanwhile have lost eight of their last ten trips to London in the Premier League.

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte has apologised to the club’s supporters following their exits from the FA Cup and Champions League.

In their matchday programme, he said: ‘I should like to apologise to you – our loyal supporters – as you saw us knocked out of the FA Cup and Champions League in the space of a week.

‘We want to win and compete for trophies as much as you do, and these defeats hurt us all too.

‘We now have an important two-and-a-half months ahead of us with the Premier League our sole focus.’

And what a result that is for Bournemouth who have beaten Liverpool 1-0.

The Cherries jump out of the bottom three, and it means that Tottenham still hold a three-point lead over the Reds.

A win today will be still be vital for Tottenham given that the Reds would still have a game-in-hand after Spurs play.

Serge Aurier returns to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the first time with Nottingham Forest today.

Going into today’s game, Aurier has revealed that he played for Tottenham three days after his brother was murdered to help his grieving mother.

Aurier’s brother Christopher was shot dead outside a nightclub in France in July 2020, hours after the Ivory Coast international played for Spurs in a north London derby win over Arsenal.

Interesting decision by Conte to start Richarlison who was less than pleased to start Tottenham’s goalless draw with AC Milan on the bench.

Addressing post-match comments by the Brazilian, Conte said Richarlison was right in assessing his season was ‘s***’ and hinted that he didn’t deserve to play.

However he does make the starting XI today – could this be the day that he scores his first Premier League goal for Tottenham.

There was a chance Tottenham might have slipped outside the top-four before they kick-off at 3pm, but as it stands they will stay in fourth place.

Bournemouth hold a 1-0 lead over Liverpool, and not long ago Mohamed Salah sent a penalty wide in a huge chance for Jurgen Klopp’s side to draw level.

Could be a huge result for Tottenham if Bournemouth can hang on.

Two changes to the visitors’ starting XI with Jesse Lingard and Orel Mangala included in the starting line-up.
