Tony Ferguson wants to welcome 'p***y' Conor McGregor back to the UFC but says Notorious is 'never coming back' | The Sun

TONY FERGUSON admits he's open to welcoming Conor McGregor back to the octagon next year – but he doubts the UFC star will ever fight again.

Former two-division champion McGregor is in the final stages of recovering from the horrific broken leg he suffered in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier last July.

The Irishman is expected to return to action early next year after taking part in the remake of Road House with Hollywood superstar Jake Gyllenhaal.

And Ferguson would jump at the opportunity to settle his feud with The Notorious if the opportunity presents itself.

When asked if he'd like to McGregor back to the cage, the former interim UFC lightweight champion told SunSport: "Absolutely."

Ferguson's grievance with McGregor stems from the Dubliner allegedly breaking his promise not to move up to 155lbs when the pair were both represented by Paradigm Sports.

Ferguson parted company with Paradigm in April 2019 and firmly believes his reps did everything in their power to stop him from getting his hands on the UFC's poster boy.

He said: "We did have the same management, so there were a lot of different things why they avoided me.

"They knew how dangerous of an opponent was. But now, that's all different. I've been fishing for these two f***ing knuckleheads.

"You've got McNuggets and like I said Khabiber [Khabib Nurmagomedov].

"I call him fat head. These dudes, it's completely different.

"They have their own management teams and they've been avoiding me for a long time with the UFC's help and trying to make sure that they keep their valet."

Ferguson was left waiting at the alter for McGregor after winning the interim 155lb title in October 2017.

And he believes Mystic Mac steered cleared of him to avoid becoming a victim of his patented elbows.

He said: "With me, they don't want their face rearranged.

"With Conor, like I said, he's on a boat but he's not the BOAT.

"The BOAT is the best of all time. GOATS come and go, but BOATS stay afloat.

"No matter where the f**k that dude is at, I'll fight him with the jet ski. I've said that before."

As much as he'd love to welcome McGregor back to the octagon, Ferguson has serious doubts about the MMA superstar fighting again.

He said: "The fight with Conor? Well, I don't know you gotta get him wet or do some f*ing other st like a chick or some shit like that.
