Premier League sides eye Evan Ferguson

Brighton star Evan Ferguson has already been linked with numerous Premier League clubs after some stunning performances.

Ferguson has netted a whopping four goals in four matches for the Seagulls after a hat-trick against Newcastle.

According to reports, the forward is being eyed by Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham.

And of course, there is no way the Republic of Ireland star would go on the cheap as the Seasiders are notoriously tough negotiators.

West Ham's Lingard move HIJACKED by Premier League rivals

The Hammer's plans to re-sign Jesse Lingard could be scuppered by a Premier League rival, it's been claimed.

Lingard has been training with the East Londoners for the last few weeks to keep himself fit as he bids to find a new club.

It's been claimed Hammers boss David Moyes is contemplating adding the free agent to his squad to further bolster his attacking options for the long season ahead.

But the Scot will reportedly face competition for his services.

That's according to Sky Sports, who claim Wolves are also sniffing about the former Manchester United man.

It's claimed that last season's relegation battlers could make a move for the England international in "the coming days".

    Chelsea targeted Sancho

Chelsea were interested in signing Manchester United ace Jadon Sancho this past summer.

That was before Sancho took to social media on Sunday to deny claims made by United manager Erik ten Hag regarding his recent training performance.

According to the Daily Mail, the winger was lined up for a shock move to the Blues at the start of the recent summer transfer window.

However, the report claims the West Londoners pulled the plug because they "were concerned about his mindset" and instead moved for Cole Palmer from Manchester City.

The England international has been tipped to still depart this summer, however only a handful of countries' transfer windows remain open – such as Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

    Kylian Mbappe contract talks

Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe will not sign a new contract with the club.

Mbappe looked set to spend this season on the sidelines after refusing to activate an extension in his deal this summer and PSG manager Luis Enrique left him out of pre-season.

However, the striker has been reintegrated back into the team after softening his stance on the ongoing saga.

According to L'Equipe, the France international's reintegration stems from an agreement to waive an £85.5million loyalty bonus owed to him this summer rather than a commitment to extend.

The 24-year-old has been extensively linked with Real Madrid throughout his time at Parc des Princes and is expected to sign for them on a free next year.

The France international currently makes €8million (£6.8m) net per year plus €2m (£1.7m) in bonuses until 2026.

    Sal of the century

Liverpool were offered an astonishing £215million for Mohamed Salah, reports SunSport's Steve Brenner.

Al-Ittihad reps flew into London on Monday to make one final effort to land Salah before their transfer window slams shut on Thursday.

The Saudi Arabian giants are desperate to land the forward and have followed up a whopping £170m offer with a deal that will reach £215m with add-ons.

SunSport understand the Egypt international has been offered a staggering £2.45m a week to quit Anfield with extra incentives.

The 31-year-old has been tempted with a large percentage of shirt sales, a £55,000 win bonus as well as ambassadorial roles for at least three major Saudi companies for the duration of his deal.

That could be worth an extra £18m with each firm willing to pay the ex-Roma star £6m each.

    On the Wayne

DC United manager Wayne Rooney has admitted he is "disappointed and frustrated" that he has not spoken to club bosses for two months as his future hangs in the balance.

I am slightly disappointed and frustrated there has been no contact for two months. We asked about a new deal. We can sit down and talk about it. We haven’t heard back.

Either way, I can take whatever the situation is. I was hoping we would have, either way, at least spoken about it. That hasn’t been the case. We asked to sit down and speak because planning for next season needs to go ahead.

So we asked two months ago where everything was at, are we moving forward or not moving forward — if that’s the case from their point of view — and we haven’t heard back.

That’s frustrating because, either way, I’d rather know what’s the plan because we have to plan for next season. We need to do it earlier rather than later.

The fact we haven’t heard back is probably signalling one thing, but I’m sure they’ll have their reasons for that. So I’ll wait and see.

    More on Amrabat

Manchester United were forced to pay twice as much for Sofyan Amrabat's loan transfer from Fiorentina.

As part of the deal, United will pay an £8.5million loan fee, but the deal would have cost less had Erik ten Hag's side not played hardball.

According to The Athletic, negotiations last week saw the Viola ask for a £4.25m loan fee.

However, when the Red Devils only offered just over £2.5m, the Italians informed them the deal was off.

Negotiations later resumed, but with the Serie A giants now demanding an £8.5m loan fee.

The Manchester giants were able to reach an agreement close to those terms on Friday, with the deal worth a total of £30m, including a £17m option to buy clause.

    Mason Greenwood officially presented

Mason Greenwood was given a hero’s welcome by hundreds of fans as he was officially introduced by Getafe, reports SunSport's Mark Irwin.

There was no mention of the reasons he has been loaned to the La Liga minnows by Manchester United.

The 21-year-old was unveiled at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez alongside Getafe’s other recent signings, such as Diego Rico and Oscar Rodriguez.

The excited supporters who sung his name were clearly not worried by the fact that the England international is only joining them because he is a pariah back home in the Premier League.

The striker is trying to rebuild his career in Madrid after charges of attempted rape and assault were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service earlier this year.

Any fears that his signing would spark a backlash in Spain were quickly allayed by the warm reception he received from his new club.

    Greenwood’s ‘tone deaf’ move

Mason Greenwood’s loan club Getafe has been slammed as “tone deaf” after the Manchester United player was filmed signing autographs ahead of his launch.

Greenwood can be seen posing for snaps with children and signing shirts as well as footballs in a clip which the LaLiga club posted on Twitter.

One fan had already got his hands on a replica of the ex-England international’s No12 jersey, which he wore back-to-front as he hugged the striker.

The 21-year-old will be officially presented to fans along with Getafe’s other summer arrivals at the Coliseum stadium in Madrid at 7pm local time tonight.

The team's enthusiastic welcome for Greenwood has been widely condemned on social media.

    New takeover date

Manchester United’s takeover could finally be completed in about two months.

According to 90min, Raine Group, who are overseeing United’s takeover on behalf of the unpopular Glazers, set a new deadline of November to conclude the process.

However, there is currently no concrete evidence the process will be sorted out before the winter.

According to the Daily Mail, the Glazer family denied to sell because neither bidder met their £10billion valuation.

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani posed as the favourite to complete a full takeover ahead of Sir Jim Ratcliffe who was looking for majority ownership with the Glazers holding a minority stake of the club.

    Arsenal's Pep talk

Arsenal flop Nicolas Pepe has been told to leave while he still can or spend the rest of the season sitting on his hands, reports SunSport's Mark Irwin.

Pepe, 28, has resisted all the Gunners' efforts to get rid of him without a lucrative pay-off.

Besiktas are still keen to sign the Ivory international despite being turned down by the player earlier in the summer.

The forward's representatives are also trying to raise a last-ditch offer from Al-Shabab before the Saudi transfer window closes on Thursday.

But Pepe still has 10 months remaining on his £150,000-a-week contract which will net him around £6.5million if he stays at the Emirates.

The Ivorian has been ordered to train alone since returning from an unsuccessful loan spell at Nice and doesn’t even have a squad number after his number 19 shirt was handed to Leandro Trossard at the beginning of the year.

It has been made clear to him that he has no future at the Emirates and will not play another game for them if he declines to leave.

Fabrizio Romano on Jadon Sancho situation

Fabrizio Romano has relayed his information on the Jadon Sancho situation to Caught Offside.

The transfer guru said: "The situation with Erik Ten Hag is not easy, but it's not just with Ten Hag, it's also [not easy] with some of the coaching staff. They were not happy with his attitude in training and this is the reason why Sancho was not part of the squad for the last game against Arsenal.

"The situation is pretty tense between the coaching staff and Sancho, but from the player's side they insist on the same position – he wants to play for Man Utd and he wants to fight for Man Utd. They expect Sancho to have a direct conversation with Ten Hag and with people from the coaching staff, in the next few days, probably this week, to try to clarify this situation.

"We will see for the January transfer window if they will continue like this, I think they will try to find a solution but at the moment the idea is to continue together but the public statement yesterday is not helping the player because Man Utd are not happy at all."

Southgate may step down after Euros

The Daily Mail report that Gareth Southgate will step down from the England job after EURO 2024.

There had been some uncertainty about whether he would step down after last year's World Cup but it is believed that the prospect of him leaving is much more real this time.

And the FA would like Pep Guardiola to replace him.

The Manchester City manager's deal expires in 2025 — 12 months after Euro 2024.

There are also fears that England would struggle to match the astronomical salary that Pep is on at City as the FA continues to try and recoup losses during Covid.

Henderson says he didn't feel wanted at Liverpool

Former Liverpool captain spoke to The Athletic in an interview today about his move to Saudi Arabia.

He was pressed particularly on his stance on LGBTQ+ issues having advocated on issues relating to the community extensively during his time at Liverpool.

But he has also said he was left feeling unwanted by Liverpool and that played a part in his transfer.

Henderson told The Athletic: "If one of those people [Klopp or FSG] said to me, ‘Now we want you to stay’, then we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

“That’s not to say that they forced me out of the club, but at no point did I feel wanted by anyone to stay.”

    Lingard's return

West Ham look set to sign Jesse Lingard on a free transfer.

The midfielder has been training with West Ham's first team since pre-season to gain fitness since his release from Nottingham Forest.

Moyes is a big fan of Lingard and still fondly remembers his nine-goal haul during a half-season loan spell in 2021.

However, the West Ham boss wants to be doubly sure Lingard would be committed to his side’s cause, having snubbed the Londoners to join Forest last summer.

Should he return to West Ham, Lingard could face off against former club Forest on November 11.
