Watch moment romantic baseball fan's marriage proposal goes horribly wrong like 'scene from Adam Sandler romcom' | The Sun

A BASEBALL fan has become a viral hit as his proposal went disastrously wrong in front of thousands of bemused Los Angeles Dodgers supporters.

The LA Dodgers, who Chelsea chief Todd Boehly owns, began their Major League Baseball campaign last night at their iconic Dodger Stadium.

And they were celebrating as they romped to a 8-2 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

However, the result was not the main talking point after a romantic gesture ended up turning nasty and going viral.

During the action, a man was filmed by a fellow spectator racing from the stand and out onto the field mid-game.

He then turned back to the crowd and dropped to one knee with what appeared to be a ring in his hand to seemingly propose to someone sitting watching.

However, while he was bent down on one knee, his memorable moment abruptly ended.

A security raced over and launched himself at the man and bone-crunchingly tackled him to the ground.

His cap was sent flying from his head as two more security officers joined the melee and placed handcuffs on the individual as someone in the crowd screamed: “No way!”

And, perhaps even more agonisingly, we still do not know what answer he received to his spectacularly short proposal.

The clip, recorded by a fellow baseball fan in the crowd, soon went viral on Twitter and social media users did show him any sympathy in the comments.

“This looks like a scene from an Adam Sandler romcom,” said one.

Another wrote: “That security guard had been prepping all off-season for that moment.”

One asked: “Where did the ring go??? Did security confiscate it?? Did she say yes?? Did he get a concussion from that NFL quality hit by the security guard??”

As another added: “What if she said no?”
