WDF darts stream interrupted by vile trolls making lewd sex references

A World Darts Federation (WDF) stream was interrupted by trolls making vile sex references towards female players.

Day one of the 2023 WDF Lakeside World Championships got underway on Saturday with some thrilling darts on show. But the event was somewhat marred by the horrifying comments in the chat section of the live stream.

Several female stars were competing on the night – but they were subject to lewd references which attempted to discredit their professionalism. And the said comments were later screenshotted and posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, by other shocked fans.

One screenshot read: “Am gonna k**** one out when Jacklin’s playing,” while another apparently offered to pay money for Laura Turner’s “used” underwear.

The comments section descended into more chaos as another user – known as ‘Gus’ – wrote: “Imagine the smell from these girls’ farts, urgh,” which was met with replies of “wtf Gus”.

Paula Jacklin’s winless run continued at Lakeside as she was beaten by debutant Aletta Wajer. Jacklin went 2-0 up in the opener thanks to a brace of 20-darters but lost out after Wajer won six consecutive legs to clinch a 2-0 victory.

Meanwhile, Turner lost 2-1 to Scottish player Lorraine Hyde, despite having gone one set up. And Paula Murphy became the oldest player to win a game on the iconic Lakeside stage at 67-years-old against Almudena Fajardo.

“I’m feeling really good. I’m glad it’s over”, she said. “Everything started coming together for a change.

"I didn’t have nerves until I took the first two games out and I thought ‘oh my gosh, I need one more’ and then I kinda got a little nervous.”
