HARRY KANE believes having a winter World Cup will be a game-changer for England’s chances in Qatar.
But the Three Lions skipper has warned his teammates to get their heads around being favourites at a major tournament.
Gareth Southgate’s men have come off the back of some torrid Nations League results this month, including being beaten home and away by Hungary.
The embarrassing 4-0 defeat at the hands of the Hungarians at Molineux this week has seen enthusiasm around this England team vanish.
But Kane, 28, remains upbeat about their progress – and believes this year’s later World Cup could play right into their hands.
England’s opening group game at the World Cup will be against Iran on November 21, while a potential final is scheduled for December 18.

And Kane said: “We are used to playing games in the Premier League in November and December. That’s our busiest period so I don’t think it will be a problem for us.
“In a way, it may be a benefit. A lot of our players play in the Premier League.
“Sometimes when you are playing in June and you’ve had a long season it is hard to get that momentum going again.
“It will be strange of course, this is the first time it will be done, but having it in November and December you are going straight into it and hopefully that can work in our favour.”

Despite their poor recent form, not scoring a goal from open play in their last four outings, Kane says the squad remain mentally confident in producing when it matters.
Southgate has led England to a World Cup semi-final and a Euros final in the last two major tournaments.
And speaking on behalf of TOCA, a leading soccer training and entertainment company, Kane added: “Success for us is to always try and win the tournament.
“We are growing in confidence with the other experiences we have had in the major tournaments.
“We have learnt a lot from last summer, and we will be going into this World Cup as one of the favourites.
“That’s a different expectation to handle, but I feel like we are in the right mindset. We have a great team.
“There are also a lot of other great teams out there. We have got some improving and learning to do and we will try and achieve that between now and the World Cup.
“But when we are there, we need to be confident that we can win it.”
