West Ham line up Scamacca transfer replacement after completing £17m Mavropanos move | The Sun

WEST HAM are preparing a move for Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri after completing the £17million signing of defender Konstantinos Mavropanos.

David Moyes is keen to add another striker after the departure of Gianluca Scamacca this summer and has picked up long-standing interest in En-Nesyri.

The 26-year-old, who turned down a move to the London Stadium in January this year, has been tracked by the Hammers for four years.

Interest was first raised in the summer of 2019, while a bid was rejected in January 2021.

En-Nesyri caught the eye with a superb header in Sevilla's penalty shootout defeat to Manchester City in last week's Super Cup.

The Moroccan forward is seen as similar to Michail Antonio in his ability to play up top alone and work hard for the team.

Detailed talks are yet to take place between Sevilla and the Hammers, but the striker is currently their favoured target.

Following a slow start to the window after the £105m sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal, West Ham have started to pick up.

Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse arrived in midfield while former Arsenal defender Mavropanos has now sealed his move from Stuttgart.

The Gunners are set to pocket a small sell-on fee from the deal, with the Greek defender joining the German club permanently from north London last year.
