But the Hammers are facing competition from a number of Premier League rivals to secure his signature.
Ligue 1 outfit Lille are claimed to have rejected two offers from West Ham worth £19million and £25m.
But the Londoners are now planning a new and improved bid, according to Foot Mercato.
David Moyes and Co are still thought to be in contact with Lille over a move for the 20-year-old.
Although there are multiple clubs also circling the one-cap Belgium international.

And in Ligue 1 Monaco are keeping tabs on Onana as they search for an Aurelien Tchouameni replacement following his move to Real Madrid.

The defensive midfielder joined Lille from Hamburg a year ago for £6m.
Onana – standing at 6ft 5in – made 42 appearances for Lille in all competitions during his first season in France.
He also helped the club reach knockout rounds of the Champions League for the first time since 2007.
