WWE are keen to have CM Punk back after his fallout with AEW, reports suggest.
That is according to Fightful, who claim that chief content officer Triple H would be open to "anything within reason".
Punk, 43, was controversially fired by the wrestling giants in 2014 shortly after a dramatic walkout and stayed away from professional wrestling for seven years.
However, the American grappler made his long-awaited comeback at AEW in 2021 and quickly rose to prominence by winning the company's world title twice.
Nevertheless, The Best in the World's future at Tony Khan's promotion appears to be "doubtful at best" following a heated post-fight press conference at All Out last month.
The Straightedge Superstar took a swipe at Kenny Omega as well as Nick and Matt Jackson of The Young Bucks and reports suggest the four stars later got embroiled in a real-life brawl backstage.

Omega and The Bucks have since been suspended and AEW are reportedly trying to rip Punk's contract up by buying out its remaining years.
That could lead to a WWE return, despite the Chicago legend repeatedly pouring cold water on a potential comeback in recent years, which also included appearances in Fox's WWE Backstage.
Reports have also suggested that the eight-time world champion has had a difficult relationship with Triple H.
However, WWE recognise that Punk would create "compelling programming" but the company would only be open to a part-time deal because of what happened at All Out.

A raft of wrestling stars have returned to WWE ever since longtime Chairman Vince McMahon retired in July.
That includes the likes of Bray Wyatt, Johnny Gargano, Braun Strowman as well as Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows.
