A Place in the Sun buyers halt property search as they say ‘we’ve seen enough’

A Place in the Sun buyers left viewers stunned after they halted a viewing on a "nice" holiday home, saying they've "seen enough".

Property expert Laura Hamilton was enlisted to help engaged couple Mel and James find their perfect holiday home in Mijas on Spain's Costa del Sol.

Mel has been holidaying in the area for more than 30 years and was hoping to find a villa or apartment for her and James' maximum budget of £190,000.

However, the Channel 4 host was up for quite the "challenge" as properties in the area usually go for around the £210,000 mark.

But somehow, Laura had managed to line up five potential homes for the couple to view, and got off to a great start with property number one.

The townhouse in Mijas la Nueva, was dubbed a contender almost immediately. It had a communal pool, private outdoor space, and a terrace and a balcony.

But the second option didn't win the couple's favour at all – while they said it was "nice" when they walked in, they wanted more than that.

James said: "My first thoughts are yes, it's nice. It's clean looking."

Laura replied: "Wow, what a different reaction compared the first property where you walked in like 'wow' and you were like 'yes' and you're like 'it's nice'.

"Who wants just nice? You want something that you walk in and it's just literally blown you away and this hasn't as you've walked through the door."

The pair agreed and weren't keen on even entering the two-bedroom townhouse, though Laura managed to persuade them to at least look at the kitchen first.

However, they quickly ruled the home out, as Mel said: "We've seen enough to compare".

James agreed: "Yeah it's time to move on".

Viewers were left stunned after the couple decided to leave the property as they insisted they should have looked around first.

One user said: "Nothing more disrespectful than the old “we’ve seen enough and don’t want to look around the rest of the property”… at least look about to compare!…"

Another commented: "These two are too posh for the hovels Laura will find today!"

A third wrote: "Nice place."
