A Place in the Sun: Danni shocked when couple want to put in offer straight away
A Place in the Sun expert Danni Menzies was left stunned as one couple decided they wanted to make an instant offer on a house. On Thursday’s episode of the Channel 4 show, viewers were taken to the Haute-Vienne region of France.
The house expert was tasked with finding the dream home for married couple Gary and Lynn who had a maximum budget of £120,000. Before their search began, they told Danni their wishlist for a property, which involved three bedrooms, outdoor space and a big kitchen.
After being shown a variety of homes, it was their final location that seemed to blow the duo away. Gary and Lynn took a look around the property and were instantly impressed with the home, knowing they’d found what they’d been looking for.
Outside, Danni was waiting for them to see what they had decided. She asked them both: “So, you’ve seen the rest of it, what do you think?”
Lynn confessed it was perfect for them and she was blown away by what Danni had managed to find them. Agreeing, Gary said: “This ticks every box for us. Before, we were trying to work out how we could make the other ones work for us.

“This just works for us, it’s perfect. The location, across the road into the beautiful walk, the storage space that we’ve got and the house is beautiful.”
Although there were two other properties in the running before visiting this home, the couple revealed that despite them both being nice places, this one beat them all. Asking what they wanted to do next, Lynn said: “Put in an offer.”
Usually, on the show, house hunters take the day to think about their decision and meet back up with the property expert the next day. Stunned by their rashness, Danni asked: “What, right now? No, you don’t, do you actually? You want to do it right now?
As Lynn was adamant she wanted an offer put in there and then, Danni questioned if Gary felt the same.

He replied: “We’ve talked about it, we know the area pretty well. I think we’d be happy to make an offer on this place now.”
Thrilled, Danni commented: “Right now! Oh my gosh, ok. Absolutely love it.”
Gary revealed that if they were to go away and think about it, they’d be stressed overnight and would rather get it over with instantly.
Finding a spot in a cafe, Danni rang the estate agent to put in Gary and Lynn’s offer of £100,000, which was slightly less than the asking price of £111,776.
Gary confessed: “I think we like the property so much, we’re prepared for a few more thousand pounds if we had to, but anything we spend more now will eat into the budget for what we want to do.”
However, their initial offer was rejected by the owners and they were given a counteroffer of £105,000. Gary said if the person was able to throw in one of the lawnmowers, they’d accept the offer.
With the lawnmower being thrown in, they managed to secure their dream home for £105,000.
Speaking about their triumph, Gary said: “Fabulous, thank you very much. I’m really excited, I’m shaking!”
Lynn echoed Gary’s excitement as she commented: “The adventure begins!”
