A Place in the Suns Jasmine Harman tells off guest who prefers blue shutters

A Place in the Sun guest was told off by host Jasmine Harman when she found a tiny fault on the huge property.

Father Stephen and daughter Stephanie were looking to relocate to Poitou-Charentes in France to run a glamping business and they had a maximum budget of £270,000 to buy a property that came with acres of land.

The father-and-daughter pair, from Hampshire, wanted to have a property with at least four bedrooms and a two-bed gite, a workshop, a swimming pool and four acres of land.

Jasmine took them to the Brossac area and showed them a five-bed house with red shutters that came along a two-bed gite, a two-bed chalet, a barn and a cabin.

The property also offers two acres of land so that Stephanie could comfortably run her glamping business on site.

Stepping inside the main house, Stephanie swooned around and said: "It's absolutely beautiful and I wouldn't change a thing, it's just incredible."

Dad Stephen said it's "breath-taking" and he particularly loved the French features throughout the house – the thick walls that could keep the heat out and the cool in, as well as the wooden beams.

With such enthusiasm, Jasmine let them roam around other areas before she asked them for the impression.

She met them outside the house and asked: "So tell me your thoughts on the whole place, now you've seen it all."

Stephanie said: "I think the inside of the house is just perfect. There's a lot of things I wouldn't even change – but, for me, my dream is blue shutters…"

Jasmine raised her eyebrows and yelled: "Come on, get a can of paint!

"If your only complaint here is the colour of the shutters, I'll buy you a nice tin of blue paint."

Having viewed five different properties, Stephen and Stephanie decided to put an offer in the red shutters house and got accepted after meeting mid-way of the negotiation at £271,000.
