Abbey Clancy named among favourites to replace Holly Willoughby on This Morning

Former football star Peter Crouch’s wife, Abbey Clancy, has been dubbed one of the favourites to replace Holly Willoughby on This Morning, as she has an “affable nature”.

The 37 year old and her husband Peter, 42, currently host their successful podcast together, The Therapy Crouch, where they chat openly about their marriage. Abby is also the host of her own ITVBe show Abbey Clancy: Celebrity Homes, where she takes viewers around some of the biggest celebrity pads.

Abbey’s career in the spotlight started when she appeared on Britain’s Next Top Model in 2006 and started dating Peter Crouch that same year.

A few years later, the duo officially tied the knot in 2011 and now share three children together – daughters Sophia, 11, and Liberty, seven, and sons Johnny, four, and Jack, three.

A source claimed to The Sun: “Abbey is great on camera — she comes across confidently and has an affable nature which would prove a hit with This Morning viewers.

“She’s one of the names that has been mentioned as a potential replacement for Holly.”

Abbey and Peter are reportedly good friends with former TV presenter Holly Willoughby and her husband Dan Baldwin, and have been seen partying together at Glastonbury.

Holly took to Instagram on Tuesday, 10 October, toshare a shock statement that said she was leaving after 14 years and "will not be returning."

OK! Has contacted Abbey Clancy’s representatives and ITV for comment.

However, Abbey is not the only contender in the running for the presenting role as Channel Five presenter Storm Huntley emerged as a front-runner earlier this week.

Scottish TV presenter Storm Huntley, 36, is understood to be a favourite to take on the job. The TV star presents segments on Channel 5's Jeremy Vine programme and also has her own spin-off of the show called Storm Huntley.

Storm started off as a researcher at the BBC before taking on a meteorology course at the Open University to become a weather presenter.

Addressing the rumours last week on social media, Storm laughed them off, saying: "Very flattering, but I think there may be a scheduling issue there."

ITV has not yet confirmed who will be taking on the sought after role, however, a number of showbiz names are said to be in the running, such as Alison Hammond, Rochelle Humes, Josie Gibson, as well as Kate Garraway and Davina McCall.
