Alan Carrs Epic Gameshow baffles fans whove never heard of classic game

Alan Carr's Epic Gameshow viewers were left scratching their heads as they'd never heard of this week's "classic" game.

The series is hosted by comedian Alan and sees contestants playing reworked versions of old quiz shows.

Games in previous episodes have included the likes of The Price Is Right, Play Your Cards Right and Strike It Lucky.

So fans were baffled by Saturday night's game of Child's Play.

It involved children explaining various words without actually saying them, and the contestants having to guess them.

But some viewers said they'd never even heard of it.

"Child's Play was not a classic," one person insisted on Twitter.

Another posted: "Didn't remember #ChildsPlay. Didn't remember the theme tune. And no doubt, it's a very dull fairly straight quiz. Not an #EpicGameshow at all."

"Never even heard of Child's Play," said another.

Some viewers thought it was similar to early 90s gameshow Small Talk, which was hosted by Ronnie Corbett.

"So Child's Play is sort of like Small Talk but not quite?" wondered one.

Although some people did appear to remember the programme, it didn't seem to go down as well as some of Alan's previous quizzes.

"Well this one's a bit c***," said one unimpressed viewer.

Another called it "woeful", adding: "Hated it first time around, it's worse now."

"Not into this Child's Play rubbish!" someone else tweeted. They also called for Play Your Cards Right to be given another whirl on the series.

One person even said the game was "painful to watch".

"Saturday night TV needs an overhaul," said another disgruntled viewer.

"Sport on BBC1, BBC2 and Channel 4 and some s**** rehashed 80s show followed by James Bond movie, Never Say Never Again on ITV. We've been through so much. We deserve better! ENTERTAIN US!"

Alan Carr's Epic Gameshow started on ITV in 2020. A second series followed in 2021 and the show's third run started in June this year.
