Alfie Boe left viewers stunned on Friday as he shared details from Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti's Love Island date, where he performed.
Fans will recall that Alfie, 49, serenaded Ekin-Su, 28, and Davide, 27, who went on to win the ITV2 show, during their romantic meal, which took place in a colosseum-style setting.
However, Alfie shattered the romantic illusion on Friday's Lorraine as he claimed the couple had a "microwave meal" served on a "plastic plate".
During the chat, host Lorraine Kelly quipped: "Alfie, you were in Love Island…"
To which the singer responded: "Thanks for that Lorraine, yeah, I was…
"It was an interesting moment, do you know what is really weird, they're having this romantic microwaved meal…"
With his duet partner Michael Ball asking: "Is it microwaved?"
To which Alfie continued: "Literally, look, on a plastic plate! They're getting close and everything, but there's like 25 crew behind them, filming them and all that sort of stuff. Very strange…"
Despite Alfie's claims, the date was a huge hit with viewers at the time as they were left an "emotional mess" as Ekin-Su and Davide declared their love.
Since winning the ITV2 show, the couple's romance and careers have gone from strength-to-strength.
With Davide recently telling OK! that he and girlfriend Ekin-Su love each other "more and more" since Love Island.
Speaking at the launch of his boohooMAN collection, Davide, who joked they will one day retire to his beloved Italy, said: "We've been really busy for me and Ekin-Su but I feel like we feel stronger than before.
"I feel like since we have left the villa we feel like proper boyfriend and girlfriend, we feel like a proper couple. Only when you are outside [the villa] you can actually see if the relationship can actually work in the real world.
"I feel like we are much closer and we feel like a proper girlfriend and boyfriend. So things are going amazing for the moment."
However, when asked whether marriage and starting a family could soon be on the cards, Davide insisted: "I think it's too early to speak about marriage or babies.
"I feel like, if you consider since we left the villa is probably like two months, maybe three months. I feel like it's still early.
"But I feel like we are enjoying both of us in our company. We feel like we love each other more and more.
"We feel like we are the same person. Like I'm the copy and paste of her, and she's the copy and paste of me. So if it's meant to happen, it will happen!"
