Alison Hammond has opened up about her blossoming romance, revealing her partner ‘makes her heart sing’ and ‘enriches’ her life.

Last month, Alison’s This Morning co-host Dermot O’Leary accidentally let slip on the show that she’s dating someone.

He said live on-air: ‘You’re not available anymore, are you, but if you were – jeez, what a catch!’, resulting in his co-star having to clarify to viewers that she is indeed seeing someone ‘special’ in her life.

On Friday’s Lorraine, Lorraine Kelly pressed Alison gently for more details, saying to her: ‘Congratulations I know, because Dermot revealed it to everybody, cause you were trying to keep this lovely romance under wraps.’

Explaining why she wanted to keep her relationship a secret, the former Big Brother star responded: ‘You don’t want to put pressure on anything do you?’

While she refrained from going into too much detail, the 47-year-old did share how happy her partner is making her.

‘Well all I’m going to say, I’m not going to say we’re in love and everything. All I’m going to say is he makes my heart sing and I feel content,’ she said.

‘He enriches my life in ways I’ve never had before.’

Lorraine couldn’t be more happy for her friend, replying: ‘Alison you don’t have to say any more than that. Anybody that does that for you, that is fabulous.’

When Dermot made his gaffe about Alison’s beau, he remarked that she wasn’t ‘available’ anymore.

‘What do you mean I’m not available? I’m available!’ Alison retorted at the time, to which he responded: ‘She’s available! Well, let me tell you – she’s available,’ backtracking on his previous remarks.

Eventually, Alison relented, telling Dermot off for ‘telling the whole world’.

Alison complained to Dermot that ‘I literally tell you once and then you tell everybody!’, before adding: ‘You’ve got to be proud of your other half – your partner – so yeah, I have got somebody, guys.’

Alison was previously married to Noureddine Boufaied, the father of her 17-year-old son Aiden.

In 2020, Alison was also briefly involved with Ben Kusi through TV show Celebs Go Dating.

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
