Season 31 of Dancing With the Stars is finally here, and if you’ve been anxiously waiting for it, then honestly same. Judge me all you want, but there’s nothing better than watching “celebrities”—usually with zero dance training—trying their best to samba across a stage.
Now, I say this as a fan of the show: the cast can be totally hit and miss. But this season has 100 percent got an interesting and watchable cast of characters. We’ve got a Bachelorette, multiple D’Amelios, a Jersey Shore alum, and a Real Housewife. OH and there’s a famous comedian and iconic drag queen in there, too.
If you’re looking for a little intel on this season’s pro parings, I’ve you bb.
Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas
A post shared by markballas (@markballas)
If you already know and love TikToker Charli D’Amelio, then you probablyyy know she’s got a serious leg up on the competition thanks to more than 10 years of competitive dancing. She’s paired up with pro Mark Ballas, who is making his grand return to DWTS after a five-year hiatus.
Heidi D’Amelio and Artem Chigvintsev
A post shared by Heidi D’Amelio (@heididamelio)
One D’Amelio just wasn’t enough, because Charli’s mom Heidi is *also* competing on the show, making them the first-ever mother and daughter going head-to-head on DWTS. Heidi will be partnered up with Artem Chigvintsev, who just so happens to have taken home the Mirrorball Trophy in season 29.
Teresa Giudice and Pasha Pashkov
A post shared by TERESA GIUDICE ® (@teresagiudice)
This isn’t Teresa’s first rodeo when it comes to reality TV, so one thing’s for sure: the Real Housewife knows how to put on a show. She’s made it through everything from Housewives reunions to, er, jail time, so what’s a little ballroom dancing?
Jessie James Decker and Alan Bersten
A post shared by Jessie James Decker (@jessiejamesdecker)
The country singer is pairing up with pro Alan Bersten, who BTW won the entire competition a few years ago with Bachelorette Hannah Brown, so I’ve got my money on this duo going far.
Shangela and Gleb Savchenko
A post shared by Shangela (DJ) (@itsshangela)
Excuuuuse me while I contain my excitement ’cause the Drag Race superstar Shangela is going to be gracing our screens with smoke show Gleb Savchenko. I’m envisioning the costumes now, and it’s everything!
Jordin Sparks and Brandon Armstrong
A post shared by Jordin Sparks (@jordinsparks)
Jordin Sparks’s next battlefield (lol) is going to be the DWTS ballroom, ’cause she’s partnering up with pro Brandon Armstrong to try to take home the Mirrorball.
Wayne Brady and Witney Carson
A post shared by Wayne Brady (@mrbradybaby)
Okay, we all know Wayne Brady’s improv game is top notch, but just how good is his foxtrot frame? We’ll find out real soon!
Gabby Windey and Val Chmerkovskiy
A post shared by Gabby Windey (@gabby.windey)
Dancing With the Stars looooves to bring on Bachelor alumni, and this season we’re getting Bachelorette Gabby Windey. Her season ends the same week DWTS premieres, AND she’s got Val for a partner, so he’ll definitely be able to up her game in the dance department.
Selma Blair and Sasha Farber
A post shared by Selma Blair (@selmablair)
If you’re asking “Vivian from Legally Blonde, is that you?!?” the answer is YES!! Actress Selma Blair will be hitting the dance floor with pro Sasha Farber this season, and I CANNOT WAIT.
Trevor Donovan and Emma Slater
A post shared by Trevor Donovan (@trevordonovan)
If you watched 90210, then you probably know Trevor Donovan better as blue-eyed, blonde-hair heartthrob Teddy Montgomery. He’s paired up with Emma Slater who (IMHO) gives some of the best performances on the show, so I’ve got some high hopes for them.
Daniel Durant and Britt Stewart
A post shared by Daniel Durant (@danielndurant)
Anyone who saw the Oscar-winning movie CODA will recognize actor Daniel Durant, but who knows, after this season he might be better recognized for his moves on the dance floor! This is Britt’s third season as a pro and her choreography is always *chef’s kiss* so buckle up for this pair.
Jason Lewis and Peta Murgatroyd
A post shared by Jason L Lewis (@jasonleelewis)
If you’re a Sex and the City fan, then get ready for a little more Smith Jerrod action because Jason Lewis joined the cast this season and he’s pairing up with pro Peta Murgatroyd.
Cheryl Ladd and Louis van Amstel
A post shared by Cheryl Ladd (@angelcherylladd)
You might not recognize Cheryl Ladd since her biggest role was in the Charlie’s Angels TV back in the ’70s (she replaced Farrah Fawcett when she left after season 1), but she’s paired up with pro Louis van Amstel who’s been on DWTS on and off since the very first season, and I have a feeling they’re both ready for a comeback.
Joseph Baena and Daniella Karagach
A post shared by Joseph Baena (@joebaena)
When your dad is Arnold Schwarzenegger, you might as well just take the trophy home day 1, right?? Joseph definitely takes after his dad in the fitness department, so I’m expecting some impressive lifts and flips from him.
Sam Champion and Cheryl Burke
A post shared by Sam Champion (@samchampion)
A weather anchor + ballroom dancing isn’t exactly the most expected of combinations, but I have no doubt that with Cheryl as a partner, Sam will be quick-stepping in no time.
Vinny Guadagnino and Koko Iwasaki
A post shared by Koine Iwasaki (Koko) 🇯🇵 (@koko_iwasaki)
Vinny might have to pioneer the DTL (dance, tan, laundry). Although to be fair, he was also on The Masked Dancer last year, so maybe he picked up a move or two?
