Laura Hamilton has been congratulated by scores of fans after sharing a family update to her Instagram account.

The A Place in the Sun presenter, who boats 185,000 followers on the platform, said he felt "honoured" in her announcement, in which she proudly revealed she has been asked to be a godmother.

The 41-year old has two children of her own and now appears to be delighted with her new role.

Beaming from ear to ear, the Channel 4 star uploaded a snap as she cradled the newborn tot in her arms.

And she captioned the post: "A big honour to be asked to be Godmother to this beautiful little boy today by his awesome Mummy and Daddy, Sarah and James! Love you all."

Fans soon flocked to the comments section to offer their best wishes, with one penning: "Aah bless you and definitely you make an excellent god mother."

Another wrote: "This is so lovely. He is one lucky little boy xx."

A third added: "Lovely photo of you Laura with your god son, arr he's so cute and adorable bless him and showing your lovely amazing smile too."

And a fourth declared: "Amazing news proud godmother x."

The positive news will come as a welcome relief to Laura, who yesterday was forced to address sceptical APITS viewers' misconceptions about the show.

Laura clarified that the frequent airing of episodes might have created a belief among fans that the property buyers do not actually finalise their purchases.

But when discussing yet-to-be-seen upcoming instalments, she divulged that audiences could anticipate "loads of people buying properties".

The beauty told the Express: "It's funny, because I always see these little clips that go round where people go, you know, 'oh A Place In The Sun, does anyone actually buy it?'

"Well, actually, there are a lot of people buying.

"They're mostly watching old shows, but there's loads of great destinations and loads of great house hunters in the series – the new series started last week, I believe."
