EastEnders is set to be rocked by the arrival of a new family in the Queen Vic, as Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) sells up to mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe).
In upcoming scenes, the family’s arrival will be set up, as Elaine is seen making a mystery phone call.
As Linda reels from the break in at the pub, she is left upset when Elaine shows little interest in a ruined picture of Linda’s missing lover Mick.
With her back up thanks to Elaine’s new way of doing things, things only get worse when Elaine vows to get revenge on the Panesars, who she believes to be responsible for trashing the place.
However, Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) is on hand to offer some advice, encouraging Elaine to focus on her daughter and the stress Linda is under instead of her vendetta against the business rivals.
Realising that she has a point, Elaine sits Linda down for a heart to heart about Mick, who was lost at sea on Christmas Day last year.
The pair vow to be there to support each other, though it isn’t long before Elaine is sneaking off to make a secret call.
It soon becomes clear that it is a man she is on the phone with, as she expresses her desire for him to move into the pub with them.
EastEnders recently announced that the Knight family will be arriving on the Square and taking up residence behind the bar, something which actress Kellie Bright is thrilled about.
‘It’s like playing a book of two halves. One book is finished, and now it’s the start of a new book, even though I’m on the same show.
‘For Harriet Thorpe and the actors playing the Knights, they are right at the start of their journey on the show, and that was just like me and Danny Dyer ten years ago.
‘But I’m now on their journey with them, which I think is great for the character of Linda because it breathes new life into her as a character.
‘There’s a new family dynamic to play with, and The Vic definitely needs a big family in there to make it feel alive! It’s really good for all those reasons.’
